Nobody will ever admit it and I'm ok with that. If anything it shows Blue does have a plan and was/is aware of the current state of the program. He is going to listen to former players and alums, especially after they were virtually left out of the discussion when Gould was hired.

The only time schools can have their football program in one conference and other sports in another is if their non-football conference doesn't sponsor football (think BYU and San Diego in the WCC). Because the WCC does not sponsor football, San Diego and BYU are able to play in different conferences at different levels (San Diego in the Pioneer - FCS and BYU as an FBS independent.

The NCAA doesn't allow one sport to be DII and others to be DI. You're all in.

As BGA stated, there is always concern about our student-athletes. Without them none of this is possible. I cannot imagine a situation where a coach pulls a scholly away from a student due to a coaching change and I believe the NCAA passed a regulation that prohibits schools from doing so.

With that being said, I am sure there are some student-athletes that will also re-evaluate UC Davis to determine if it is in their future plans. There is nothing wrong with that. For those who choose to leave, I wish them nothing but the best of luck wherever they end up. If they choose to stay, their scholarship better not go anywhere. That's not how we operate and I can't imagine anyone on AST, the athletic department, anywhere on campus, or Mrak that would be ok with that.

Flip that. When transferring from FBS to FCS , no waiting is required. If you go the other way you have to sit out a year.

I think it depends on who the new coach is. If the assistants don't fit in with whatever scheme the new coach runs it would be hard to keep them around. I do hope they all find a spot, whether it is here at UCD or elsewhere.

I'm old school when it comes to coaching so I have no problem with someone who is going to kick down the door. I think we need someone who is going to call it like he sees it.

Then again, we have the track record of mild mannered coaches at UCD...

I wouldn't be surprised if Blue had all of these people lined up before he pulled the trigger on firing Gould. It would be a lot harder to set up that list in a day or so unless they knew they would be called into action.

One thing I have been told by multiple sources is that the buyout is just north of $100k and we only owe it to him if he doesn't get a job in the next year or if the job he lands doesn't pay him as much. That money is a drop in the bucket for the university.

To me, that almost means we are going to go after a DII guy who built a program and is looking to move up. There aren't too many FCS jobs that are less prestigious than UCD and I can't imagine and FBS coach slumming it with us.

One of the reasons why we used this site is because it is so much more mobile friendly than yuku. I am not using an app right now and it is so much cleaner and user friendly you don't need an app!

We are glad to make the switch away from Yuku! Now we host our own site and have creative control over it!

Right now we are focused on increasing views/posts at the new site and a major component of that will be to cover UCD athletics via the blog section. With a new AD in place, and one who seems to be focused on new media and can engagement, we are hoping he sees this site for what it is; the place where everyone goes to find out what is REALLY going on in Aggie Land!
