Would the new WAC allow for associate membership (football only) like our setup with the Big Sky?

It seems like a lateral move at best, but a smaller conference would allow it to operate like the P10 before expanding where each conference foe plays each other each season.

One potential drawback, depending on the size of a WAC FCS Conference, would be needing to backfill our schedule. We would probably still be indirectly dependent on the Big Sky if that were the case.

There are other FCS matchups that would be of interest that same day.

Let’s also keep in mind that NDSU had to be in the midst of their current dynasty before ESPN headed out fo Fargo....
