Equestrian parents need to understand that the world does not revolve around them. Any good will that they have received because of what happened will disappear if they don’t get it together. The school reputation is much bigger than one sport, and a minor one at that. This stuff happens. They can transfer or see that they got into a world class institution that is on the way up. Who in their right mind as an adult will think that they were hampered because they “took away” their equestrian sport when they were in college? Focus on getting a good degree, be passionate about your work, and give back. There is a line of “kids” that will gladly take their spot on campus.

I’m pretty sure he will get flack for the Equestrian program. But if the program wasn’t generating the needed revenue to sustain it, it had to go to a club sport.

That’s the reality of it. Those students are still being taken care of.

This is done in business all the time, especially in real estate. The best commercial real estate deals are because of cultivated relationships.

I have worked and still work at the top commercial real estate firms (think Warren Buffett et al) and this is always true.

Perhaps the school needs to better articulate that. In 2-3 years we will be FBS. If we can get an FCS title that would be nice.

It’s probably private. This will actually be very good for them. The amount of advertising they are getting from this is crazy. Location wise they are a much better destination than Fresno. They might poach their recruits now.

It would have been awesome if the old Pac12 would have stayed and we would have eventually gotten an invite.

I work with UCLA alums and they are already planning a trip with me for when we play them. This is what happens when we play consistently “better” programs.

I am pretty sure that with a better product people will come.

Hell, I almost drove up from LA because of the playoffs. The only thing that stopped me from doing so was a pesky cold.

A small anecdote from last November. I went to the MU (haven’t been there in over 10 years). Looked around for nice swag, none. Then I asked a group of student workers where I could buy wine produced by the school, blank looks. I was super disappointed.
