• CSN: Post: #1Will Cal and UCLA ever let UC Davis move to FBS?
Not even worth talking about, need to focus on winning more games and filling up the stadium first. I think if the team wins, the students will come out. But in general the overall fan base for football and basketball is just not there. I was surprised at the small attendance at the Northern Colorado basketball game. I noticed they had pulled out the center bleachers and was hoping the stands would fill in, but the attendance was lousy.
  • Men’s RPI is 22 in the nation
Yes, very impressed with Shorts. Exactly the time of gem that Les needs to keep finding. Too small to get recruited by the power 5 schools, but a great player.
  • Men's Water Polo Seeks to Return to the NCAA Tournament
UOP fell to UCLA in one semifinal. USC squeaked by Cal in the other by one goal in an absolute war in the pool. 3 or 4 Cal players were majored including their best attacker Hooper. Lachlan Edwards from USC punched a Cal player and was thrown out for brutality. UCLA won the final over USC 7-5, a close game the whole way. Utengsyu Aquatic Center at USC is impressive. Schaal is a nice facility, but hopefully the Ags can continue improving the facility. It would be great to see them add stands on the opposite side of the pool like at Stanford and USC. By the way, the Aggies finished ranked 8th in the country, another great year!
  • Davis gets a semi-pro soccer team; will play at Aggie Stadium in 2018
Doubt that there will be much attendance, I think any soccer fans already go to Sac Republic games.
  • UC Davis Aggies vs NC Central Eagles @ Dayton, OH
Great crowd at The Grad! It was packed and the local Fox affiliate was there. It was packed and everyone had a great time cheering on the Ags
  • Berkeley Coach Steps Down
Missouri gave Martin a 7 year deal at $2 million a year MORE than he was making at Cal. That's why he left.

I don't think Les will get any consideration for the Cal job.
  • MBB: Long Beach State (13-17 & 6-8) @ the Aggies (17-11 & 9-4) ESPN Game
Whatever they did for the last game they should do for every game. It would be great to have 3k plus at every home game
  • MBB: CSUN @ The Aggies (2/23)
Great win! It was fun to see all of those 3's go down! Disappointing crowd, hopefully the place fills up Saturday
  • Napolitano selects Gary May as her choice for UCD Chancellor
Hopefully he is into sports, it was great having Hexter show so much enthusiasm towards the program
  • Coach Gould
Saw Coach Gould at the south Davis Starbucks this afternoon, so he's still in town. I suspect he will land somewhere soon.
  • ESPNU Returns to The Pavilion on 2/25 v. LBSU
The huge gaps in the upper bleachers are terrible. It would be great if they could have a phased improvement of the facility. Maybe they could address the excess space behind the hoops by reconstructing one end, making it more compact and closer to the action. And then address the other side. It would also be nice to have a center scoreboard. It would be great to have the best arena/atmosphere in the Big West. In terms of hosting donors, if they did a fixed deck on one sideline they could add some nice donor suites or a large donor room. Santa Clara did this when they renovated their arena
  • 2017 Recruiting
The coaches probably tell them that they have 3 spots and have made 6 offers, if you wait too long the offer may no longer be there In the case of the UConn kid, he was committed and they were committed to him, then they dropped him at the last minute. Not the same situation.
  • MEN'S WATER POLO
For the first time in the history of UCD athletics, a coaching position has been endowed!! The men's water polo head coach is now an endowed position. I assume that Kevin Blue is following the lead of Stanford, where a huge number of coaching positions are endowed. This is a great day for UCD athletics as it provides long term security for a non revenue sport. Hopefully over time, more positions will become endowed. Leyson, the current head coach was also extended. He has done a great job so this is a good move for the stability of the program.

  • New Fundraising Drive on the way
I wish there was something more concrete on the facility improvements, it was just mentioned by Bruce as more of a hope than an actual plan by the university.
  • MBB: Aggies (6-7) @ Seattle (7-6)
Seems like a game the Ags need to win heading into the Big West
  • Coach Gould
I saw Coach Gould at Starbucks in Davis yesterday, so he's still in town. It will be interesting to see where he lands next
  • MEN'S WATER POLO
Brutal loss, the Ags had some chances late but couldn't convert. Great game atmosphere, good turnout by Aggie fans. Nice to see Kevin Blue out there supporting the team. Good job Harvard.
  • MBB BW Standings
Awful non conference start for the Big West, hopefully it improves
