• Coach Gould
Pac12 offices are still located in SF, but i wonder if she is doing much of her work remotely?
  • 2023 Preseason FCS Football Polls
that ranking seemed inflated at the time. They had beaten Montana, who had no quality wins, and that was about it.
  • Pepper returning for another season!
Yet again, one of my predictions lands flat on its face! Great to have him back
  • 2023 Recruits?
I was assuming we had 2 spots not counting Peppers. This is our 3rd player in. As others have mentioned, we might have lost someone else
  • 2023 Recruits?
we’ll know byThursday if he withdraws his name
  • 2023 Recruits?
deadline to withdraw his name is May 31. I don’t think his chances of being drafted are very good, but he might get a camp invite. I would expect to see him chasing a career overseas

Another transfer coming in, this one from Cal

6’6’’. Played in 31 games last year at Cal as a sophomore, averaging 2 points a game.

I’m guessing this might be a sign that Pepper is gone for good?
  • WBB: Aggies Playing Pro Abroad
They are on ESPN Sunday at 1:00
  • WBB: Aggies Playing Pro Abroad
Looks like she had 6 points in 20 minutes in the first league game.
  • Gabe Vincent
i know former Gaucho Brian Shaw has 3 rings with the Lakers.
  • Dobbins Stadium thoughts
D1 baseball is limited to 11.7 scholarships to be divided among 27 players (on a 35 player roster). so, the vast majority (all?) players are on partials. at UOP, that has to be a high burden unless they are really good at getting aid elsewhere.
  • Evaluating the athletic department
21-22 was the doubleheader (we swept). Last year, we lost by 2 at home. Should have won that one
  • Evaluating the athletic department
we've played UOP the past couple years; i hope that continues.
  • Evaluating the athletic department
i remember we played St Marys in the 15-16 season and got beat bad. I heard Randy Bennett talking later that year about being on the bubble and how OOC games were so critical to them -> he mentioned that game in particular because we were Big West Champs the previous year, but ended 15-16 season something like 11-19. those wins did nothing for their hopes of sneaking in as an at large (they were denied with a 27-5 record)
  • Evaluating the athletic department
Having football makes our budget higher than anyone else (poly being the only other football school). I think we have too many sports, but football and title IX drive that.
  • 2023 Recruits?
there was some site (https://247sports.com/college/uc-davis/Season/2023-Basketball/Offers/) i saw a month or so ago that showed young Beasley as someone we had made an offer to. also shows an offer to a Jurian Dixon from San Diego area (offers from Pepperdine and Irvine). this portal stuff really changes the landscape of recruiting.
  • 2023 Recruits?
I believe he committed to USF early, before his brother transferred here.
  • 2023 Recruits?
I think his size has been a drawback. I’ve seen him play a couple times and thought he was more of a 5-11, than a 6-1.

Saw this in the paper this morning. Dougherty Valley has been a east bay powerhouse the last two years behind Sevilla and Ryan Beasley (Robby’s brother)
  • 2023 Recruits?
I believe they use their limited academic exceptions in basketball. If we get a couple exceptions they go to football. Not so at UCSB. Makes the transfer process a bit easier.
