Manjon is just 2-10 from the field. Doing a good job of playing aggressive and finding open men. If we can get him out of this shooting slump, good things are going to happen

Shaking things up with Shaw and Ba starting; off to a 10-3 lead after 4

Gauchos had 13 games under their belt coming in, 6 tough league games. The layoff has this group in a real hole especially against a good team like this

We got hot at the end to get to almost 20% shooting!

Manjon hasn’t looked like himself since the layoff

I tend to book ahead on Expedia with free cancellation to lock down a place, especially in an area I’ve never been, and then start searching on my own. I usually find I get better deals direct on many places, especially Best Western as a member. Reno is another example - rates tend to be better direct, and you get other perks tossed in. I have found with Expedia I o have sometimes got a less desirable room - I’m sure it’s because I did it indirectly.

One nice thing about Expedia is that you can get a quick overview of prices that can highlight increases due to demand. Helped me to delay a trip to Palm Springs by a week until AFTER the big tennis tournament.

I think we hijacked a good old football thread!

thats really weird since they are different counties. I set my mom up through contra costa health and her appointment was at Safeway in Antioch, about a mile away. I heard they opened the Senior center there as a vaccine center and that seems to be moving smoothly

I usually use Expedia (pricing seems similar) and my experience is more like AgAlum. I looked on the weekend of Apr 10, and prices for decent places (eg, Apple Tree) are in that $200 range. Even down the road in Arroyo Grande, hard to find a bargain. If you find something, let us know. Almost post here will be no fans, but worth a free cancellation booking!

I got my mom, 87, in last week. She doesn’t have a computer and the phone system was overwhelmed. She went to Safeway and it was smooth as could be. AND she got a 10% coupon off her next shopping trip! Zero reaction; I’ll give her a heads up on shot two

was that really just last year? I swear there are certain just-pre-pandemic events (like 49ers in the Super Bowl) that seem like they happened years ago!!

women hosted last weekend so we’re okay. Schedule shows 4:00. I think they are trying for early starts so teams can leave after the Saturday game and minimize travel costs (and time spent in hotels)

it looks like their loss to Irvine shows as a W in the Anteaters column.

Nice turnaround after such a bad showing Friday. Felt like we should have won by 15 or more, but we got sloppy on offense and lazy on defense and let a comfortable 12 point lead slip away.

If we can get some points from Anigwe, we’ll be able to score, especially if the defense continues to be tough. Manjon, Fuller, Squire and Pepper all look good. Koehler brings energy and toughness, and is a quality FT shooter, but, man, his footwork is bad - gets too rushed. Maybe that will improve with games. Ba and Shaw both contribute. Surprised we didn’t go a little deeper on a back to back ( pretty sure Adebayo and McGill played but didn’t show in box score)

UCSD is transitional D1 so games don’t count in Big West Standings. So we’re still 0-0 in league play

Keeping them in the game with bad shots and mistakes.

    67-60 with 3:45 left

Seemed like early we were trying to force it inside and that didn’t flow at all. Getting better as the game goes. Missed a lot of easy shots or we’d be up more.

    54-46 12 to go

Manjon is really struggling. If he can get going, everything will open up
  • MBB: UC Davis at UC San Diego, Saturday, Jan. 23 2:00
Defense is playing well. Feels like if we get a little lead and relax, we’ll pull away

isn’t there some concern that premeditating with Tylenol may reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine?

was there a post game interview? I wonder if Scott Marsh is there or doing it remotely. He used to actively post on Facebook about his broadcast travels (and other subjects) but he’s been silent for awhile

the stats are weird. Forced them into 22 turnovers. Good defense. Allowed 70% shooting. Not so good. Reminds me of a Monty python skit of soccer highlights where one team is the long John silver impersonators!
