• Maier selected for Hula bowl
hard to find media guides (none on our site). I did some digging and found JT played in 2001 East-West game. Daft played in 98 Hula and Blue Gray games.

Back toward the end. Had some linemen in east west game in early 2000s. There was a couple small college bowls in that era also

2 league titles and a tournament title look pretty good on the resume.

I remember going through the Big West rosters last year looking for 6-10 type players. Not many and a large fraction foreign. I think the to programs grab those guys so it’s either foreign players and transfers for the lower mid-majors.

Les was pretty upbeat in comments after the game. Said preseason schedule is a real test but that this team is much better than 3 weeks ago, and expects an even better one in three more weeks. I agree; doesn’t look like the same group that played in Sac

Not shocked by either outcome but thought bobcat defense would be better. Both big sky offenses were flawed, especially Weber without their back. Subpar QB play

they had 4 guys on the 50 team in the NFL hall of fame (Ollie Matson and Dick Stanfel besides Gino and St. Clair). That’s gotta be a record

Gino passed away earlier this year back in Maryland. YouTube him some time. That guy was a terror

Gino Marchetti is from Antioch and a family friend . He was on that team. Hall of Famer, NFL 100 team. Great team.

Good to see Manjon back on his game. We need to get Mooney going in the first half; tends to be pretty quiet in the first 20.

The Les T and 3 was a killer; gave them separation we couldn’t make up.

Lose 93-84: tons of offense with both teams shooting around 50%. That big run before the half was the story. Couldn’t get enough stops in second half, especially down the stretch

Dons end half on 19-4 run to take 4 point lead. Missed most of that; what happened?

Up 15-6 at the 12 time out. As good a start as we could hope for

i expect to be at all the home games, unless a grandchild birthday pops in there. Nevada and San Jose are definites. Maybe on Poly, and a slight possible on NAU. Much more favorable schedule than this year, even with the two FBS.

Hawk describes the class as 'dynamic' in terms of athletic ability (lots of multisport athletics, and guys who play on both sides of the ball) and personality (eagle scouts, thick off-field resumes, high GPA's). didn't go into much detail about individuals besides the big nose tackle and the LB from San Francisco (QB/LB, very athletic). Said to expect a few more signings in the February time frame. Also said they were really excited about the walk-ons, who they can't mention.

as for the turnout? i was pleasantly surprised by the size of the crowd given the weather and timing (Christmas is coming!). I can't remember if last year was in december or february. agree with Agalum that department staff and the coaching staff makes a point to engage with people, not just the big donors. makes for a lively night.

By the way, the schedule is final and on the web page. San Diego at home week 2. 11 games, 2 byes.

might be worth asking if they expect any signings after today.

I’m sure he won’t tip his hand too much. I will try to ask about DL since we lost a lot and only signed a couple. Position changes? Redshirts?

Scott Marsh had the video with his audio posted on his facebook page. that's really fun.

i was at my granddaughter's christmas dance performance and didn't get home until the 2nd half when we were down 18. i was following via live stats and watching the lead whittle down to 10, 8...3...1...lead! then they score with 3 to go -> daggers! pretty excited when i saw the last update with the win (ESPN initially showed it as a 1-point loss, and our live stats didn't go 'final' for several minutes which made me worry there was a review). heck of a comeback. Mooney's shot was reminiscent of the TJ Shorts bomb v Long Beach. that one was more meaningful, but this one after the epic comeback and lost lead made it almost as memorable! something to build on.

I'm sure we'll get Manjon back to his game. Teams have seen him play now, so maybe the defense is taking away some of his strengths. young kid (he was playing against Antioch High this time last year!) with some good guard mentors to get him back on track.

i noticed no Printup the last two games. he played v NIU, and did some good things. wonder what is up there.
