• Future Big Sky Schedules Announced
these are just the Big Sky games. We have Cal and South Dakota State in 2022; Nevada was supposed to be 2020
  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
don’t forget the $725k for not playing USC, and that’s a pretty good input to the program for a single FBS game
  • Former Sac State QB Greg Knapp Critically Injured in a Bike Accident
this occurred in downtown Danville from what I’ve read. My son bikes a lot and it makes me nervous - drivers seem very distracted these days, both in town and out on the more rural routes
  • Team Nigeria, with Chima Moneke, stuns USA!
Nigeria beat Argentina by 23. Argentina is rated #4 in the world. Moneke had 4 points in 7 minutes of play

A big shoutout to Chima Moneke, who grew up in Australia (spent the majority of his life in Canberra). He never got his Australian citizenship, so he’s now part of this Nigerian national team. Did a great job guarding the USA’s wings down the stretch, contesting without fouling.

Sorry don’t know how to share a tweet here. This guy is Australian and writes about the NBA and Australian basketball league
  • 2021-22 MBB Scheduling News
He is joining Chima Mineke, who is playing for Nigeria. Same Nigeria that beat the USA tonight in an exhibition!
  • 2021-22 MBB Scheduling News
article I read said he was out most of last year with hand injury (grad transfer) and he’s now perusing a professional career
  • 2021-22 MBB Scheduling News
there’s a Facebook post that said Hogland will be playing for the Japanese Olympic team. Great experience for him
  • Cal Poly-Humboldt
Aggie football Hall of famer, Robby Flannery, recieved a plant science PhD a few years back specializing in Cannabis Cultivation. Apparently, the first PhD of that type.

i wonder what kind of degree the hillbillies up near my cabin in Calaveras County are using in their production?
  • What is ailing UCD baseball ?
The SJ Mercury News just published their Fab 40 baseball list. Several kids are committed to Big 5 conferences, and a couple WCC. There 5 BWC commits. 3 to UCSB, one each to LBSU and UCSD. None to Davis. Can’t seem to make inroads in SoCal and now nothing in the Bay Area. Better get all the good players in the Sac and Northern region
  • Big West Basketball tourney moving to Henderson, NV
The new arena is walking distance from the Green Valley Resort Casino, where we stayed once. Nice place. All the sudden the idea of going to the tournament sounds appealing to my wife!
  • 2022 Football Recruiting
the jury is out on QB. I think the conservative play calling was a reflection about QB decision making/accuracy. Rodrigues wasn’t accurate against the good teams which is a concern. I thought he threw well on the move (think about that winning drive v ISU); hopefully we’ll see more of that. Hastings also had accuracy issues, although he didn’t get many reps to get comfortable. Accuracy has been the negative that I’ve heard about Tompkins since spring 2020. If one guy makes a leap, we will be very good.
  • Big West Basketball tourney moving to Henderson, NV
agree. And it takes away any home crowd advantage for the LA schools
  • Big West Basketball tourney moving to Henderson, NV
WCC and Pac12 have both played their tournaments in Vegas for with no Nevada teams.
  • 2021 Roster posted
true BUT I think it has more to do with having lost his starting position to an underclassman
  • Cal Poly-Humboldt
big slabs of meat (Flintstonian) lots of baked potatoes and sourdough bread. Family style dining.
  • Cal Poly-Humboldt
the Jacks beat us in 81 on a last second FG ending a long 38-game FWC winning streak. Trip was brutal. Only highlight was Friday night dinner at the Samoa Cookhouse! I can’t remember where we did our Friday walkthrough.

On the way home from that game, coaches drove home in a van leaving us with the trainers. Some of us pooled our meal money ($6, 2 days at $3 per, paid in a two dollar bill and Susan B Anthony silver dollar) to buy a lot of cheap beer for the ride home. We told trainers Sochor okayed it. Great plan….except no bathroom on bus for LONG ride home. Had to get the driver to pull over along 101 for a team pee.
  • Big Sky announces new broadcast contract with ESPN
I agree; getting quality broadcasts should be a high priority. I thought the games on 31 would have a professional crew but it seems like it was the standard streaming broadcast. Maybe that’s the deal we had to strike to get it on local Tv (little or no cost to them). This is a great platform to show potential recruits.

That being said….our visual isn’t great but our audio tends to be head and shoulders over other BSC broadcasts). The Scotts do a good job and have obviously done their homework on the teams
