  • Montana, Montana State opt out of spring FCS championship season
portland article i read said they haven't practiced in 10 months, so last spring. not sure the montana situation. we had fall workouts that were like an extended spring, so we'd be much further along than PSU prep-wise.

so, we're down to 9? we really need one more to drop to get to an even number else schedule will really be a mess.

I don’t see how they could have looked outside based on the timing ( Boise coach named this weekend, spring ball around the corner). Seems like the logical choice within the program.
  • COVID-19
I think we can all agree there won’t be many politicians that come out of this looking good. Heck, I read an op/ed piece in the Mercury news from a Philadelphia Inquirer writer saying that Reagan was the reason for the slow rollout (cuts he made 40 years ago to Health and Welfare that led to health center and some hospital closures).

Scary that the politician that looks the smartest here might be Arnold!

I think we’re supposed to start ‘walk throughs’ in about a week and full practice on the 25th (if memory serves). I assume we can start the non-contact stuff now, so the question is will they lift the contact ban in two weeks

as of 3 days ago, only 1/3 of California’s received doses have been administered. That part seem like a more local problem to me. Plenty of mismanagement to point at on both sides of the political spectrum.

I read that also, but she was supposedly walking through the area where they are masked by ER standards. And people started testing positive within 2 days ( I think one report said some were later that same day)? I would think ER personnel is exposed in close quarters for much longer periods and the masks seem to handle that. Must be one hell of a fan! Much stronger than the HVAC in ER.

Just seems a little fishy to me. Maybe I’m getting too cynical in my old age

in an article I was reading today about the Kaiser Christmas outbreak, the paper said it takes 10 days and isn’t more than 50%. Wonder where they get their info? I’ve heard the numbers you quote.

BTW, I don’t believe the Kaiser outbreak is due to someone passing through an area where e dry one was fully masked in an inflatable costume. Too many head scratchers there. Sounds like a diversion from some serious protocol breaches.

If there was evidence that it was spread through competition, that would be something. But from the little I’ve seen, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I was listening to Peter King (SI football guru) and he was saying there’s been no evidence of transmission from one team to another. For example, Tennessee had big outbreak and their prior opponent (one day before first of positive tests) had no cases immediately following.

I’m all for caution when there is a basis. There seems to be zero basis for this decision

sounds temporary from this article in the enterprise last month :

Bob Biggs is quoted often. He must be on the mend!
