I can’t figure out the odds for our games. Never seem to make sense

that’s a good point. I believe the two of low output games coincide with the back issue. Last game he was 1-5 from the field, 3-9 vs Fullerton. Those games he seemed to rush his shots, lose his soft touch

We need to get Anigwe back in the offense. He’s scored 11 points total in the last 3 games. He was a very reliable inside scorer there, but is a little bit out of the flow right now. Past few games he’s been rushing his shot and missing some easy shots - could be the size mismatch he gets. A few early buckets by him opens things up

I don’t think he’s quite ready to run the point when Manjon sits. Fullerton really ramped up the pressure on him and they erased that second half lead. He does play hard and smart on defense

Big game Saturday with road trip to Irvine next week coming up. After that we have a stretch of games we should be favored before the last week of the season.

OldAlum - that was a great team. Lots of offensive weapons, long and quick defenders and a solid JT in the key.

riverside shot poorly from the outside vs us, allowed our defense to sag in on the big guy. Did the Highlanders shot better last night?

We’ve had trouble vs bigger MOBILE guys who can take it to hoop from 10 feet away. We seemed to be able to slow down McRae’s low post game

that’s a good sign! Hawaii has always been tough on us. I vividly remember the last time they were here March 2020 (a week before, well, you know) : they hit a long contested three to win 67-65, since after we scored late to take the lead. I was sitting on the sideline about a foot from where he released the ball, and my seat mate mumbled sh*t as it was arching to the basket. That one hurt

Rainbows are in ESPNU tonight at 8:00 vs Riverside, if you want to scout. Their road record is very surprising

    Are we still expecting more?

    good one!

I think the thing to remember with these broadcasts (basketball and football) is that we get the local voices, guys who see the home team play each week and who probably travel with them. Human nature is such that they are rooting for them a bit. All things considered, those guys did fine - did their homework (probably limited since UCR play by play can’t be a full time gig!), complimentary of our plays and seemed unbiased about calls (like the Fuller shot clock beater). Like Marsh, they call their guys by their first name and have more enthusiasm when they make a great shot or make a run. All in all, I’ve liked the commentary on these calls more than the occasional ones on PAC12 or ESPNU.

those 2 shots might have saved the season; lose that and face a tough 3 games (2 on the road) and we were looking at a potential 1-7.

Close win. Hope that gets us going. Played with confidence tonight. Tough stretch of games coming up

I wouldn’t call it bias more of familiarity.

Up 6 13 seconds and the ball. Need FTs to seal it

It’s their guys announcing so understandable.

    Slipping away up 3

Up 7 with 3:45. Big shot by Milling. We’re a little sloppy on offense. Fatigue?
  • MBB: Aggies (8-7, 1-3) at UC Riverside (11-6, 4-2) 7 pm Tuesday 2/1
Down to 8 point lead. Riverside ramping things up with their zone, fueling 7-0 run. We’re 1-6 on last FGs. Need a big bucket here to stop the momentum
  • WBB: Aggies (8-7, 2-3) at Long Beach State (13-2, 6-1) 2 pm Saturday 1/29
Women lost at home tonight to UCR?
  • MBB: Aggies (8-7, 1-3) at UC Riverside (11-6, 4-2) 7 pm Tuesday 2/1
Holding tough. Good shots on offense and tough defense. Gotta stay out of foul trouble

32-22 at the half. Most complete half in a long time. Their FTs are keeping them close; expect them to pound it inside especially with our short bench
