  • Low Interest in Men's Basketball?
The schedule this year is helping build interest. We play at home tonight for the first time in a month. So much for bounding off a great last minute win! Last Saturday hind game? January 11! So, we’ll go a month between Saturday home games.

Throw in the rain and it’s probably not a great turnout. Let me guess….midterms week?!?!

the team Aggie donor list is here:

    https://www.teamaggie.com/about/our-donors.html

Unless they choose to donate anonymously, or are donating through the Collective . I’ll point out there are several names I know of that are missing at the higher level (non NFL ) so the list isn’t completely inconclusive

my Hunter story from Montana. If you recall, we marched from the field to get within the 20. False start, delay of game, false start and the crowd’s in a lather. Ridley goes out and kicks a fairly long FG to momentarily silent the crowd (a miss would have been a huge swing)

I walk up to him on the sideline to tell him nice kick under pressure. He thanks me and walks away. Then turns back and sticks out his hand to say ‘I’m sorry I’m not sure I remember your name?’. And then thanks me for coming. I felt pretty good if we need a pressure kick later.

    Kickers….

he’ll never hit the Hurley level. Most of the coaches here with 18 or so years are basically lifetime achievement awards.

Fullerton won 21 and 20 games in 21-22 and 22-23, and now they probably won’t win 10. Not sure what led to this big drop off.

he might still pan out. He’s been hurt the past 2 preseasons, so he’s missed valuable development time. He hasn’t been healthy until well into the season, so it’s been hard to get into the rotation and allow him to get some confidence.

he gets manhandled on defense - that’s something weight training can help with. Offensively, his confidence is not there. He finally demanded the ball with his defender backing off allowing him an open 3, but the first minute of so he was very tentative. Hopefully, just staying healthy and getting court time (preseason practices and games) will help.

fortunately only 450 fans witnessed the Titan’s effort!

Great game for Leo - he really looked confident!

Sevilla was off and sat more than recently.

I’m liking Daugherty - nice touch, handles the ball well and solid on D.

We need to get Mani, Singster and UNUAKHALU in the weight room NOW!

Have you ever seen a more disinterested crowd?

Foul calls are getting ridiculous, both sides. No continuity. We are gonna have foul Trouble which is why we’re zoning now

8 fouls and a ton of time left. I think Fullerton is so clumsy it looks like fouls.

Up 34-23 at half. Kinda of a poor finish withTO,foul (2 FT), and 2 missed FT.

6.5 point favorites tonight. Besides Bako at home, this might be our last game as a favorite, ag least by this type of margin. Defense travels - shut them down again!

Our remaining schedule is brutal. After 2 weeks on the road, back for a Thursday then bdck on the plane to UCSD! That final homestand of Irvine and UCSD

i think he's just lost confidence. He hit a 3 last night, going 1-5. The last one he made? Vs the Beach at Davis. Since conference play started, his 3 point shooting has dropped off the table. I do remember a game awhile back, maybe vs Oregon State, where they were talking about him dealing with knee issues. Might be a lingering injury.

I also wonder if Sevilla is 100%. He's been wearing that shoulder elastic bandage for a couple weeks. He's not a big dude, and it seems like teams try to take it to him physically. Last night he had a turnover....his FIRST since the last LBSU game! And he's been playing 35 minutes or so every night. His passing is SO precise, and SO smart. Just watch how he leads a guy coming off a screen toward the top of the key.

Not looking forward to the 2 games vs the Triton, especially down there! When they get on a roll, they can be devastating. Think back to the beat down they gave us at home last year.

Not sure what adjustments we made between the matchups with these guys but we really stifled their offense. Commentators kept mentioning how many times, especially in the second half, that they were forced to shoot with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock.

I do wish Les would use the bench more in the second half. I think Daugherty and Cooper have become reliable contributors (and Daugherty is showing he can score) but their minutes are almost exclusively in the first half. When we have a night where Sevilla isn’t scoring, we’re limited to TY and Tamba as scoring options (Leo doesn’t look very confident shooting these days). I think that’s a big reason we can put teams away.

8 league games to go. Can we go 4-4? Considering
an Irvine rematch and 2 with UCSD, that would be a good finish. 11-9 might be a top 4 with some luck (we have a tie breaker over UCSB).

once they showed a wide view, you could see there was a decent crowd. It’s a really big building so it looked sparse. It says it holds 4000; not sure I’d guess it was nearly half full.

TY was something else! Big win. Hopefully another road sweep to come!
