It's been crazy. I've watched bad FT shooters drain some crucial shots, while a couple of rock solid shooters brick some. It's really interesting to see how players react to the "lose and you're done" pressure. And Loyola-Chicago was the most under-seeded team. How they aren't a 3 or 4 seed is amazing.

Interesting that #20 Makaila Sanders is practicing with the team. Not suggesting that the NCAAT is the a good time to make your season debut, just glad she’s healthy a year after a very nasty looking knee injury.

yeah I was rooting for them as I have some good friends down there, but I’m not a fan of their coach at all.

Eastern is playing with a lot of emotion and aggression. I keep thinking KU will eventually get it in gear but it hasn’t happened yet. The Grove brothers are giving KU all sorts of problems

Ha! Fortunately this year there's no money on it (not around the office to join the pool) so this would be the year for as many upsets as possible. Looks like Oregon State is about to join the 12 beating 5 lineage.

Of course part of the reason UCI got so many offensive boards is that they missed so many shots. I suspect that if MSU gets even double digit offensive rebounds it won't be because they shot poorly but rather out worked us.

It'll be interesting to see how we defend the paint. In the past, when faced with post oriented teams, we'd consistently double team as soon as the ball got inside, giving up the perimeter shot. But will that be the case this year when we have a good interior defenders in Stobbart, Konrad and Hall? I imagine we'll try to mix up, double teaming at times, and from different angles, to try and keep them off balance. That type of defense often leads to poor rebounding (as players are scrambling to guard and are often our of rebounding position) so it's going to be key to crash the defensive boards.
