Another point guard, Ty Johnson. Haven't watched his tape yet, but Loyola-Chicago usually gets some high mid-major talent.

Looks like he didn't play much his freshman year, but was brought in at times as a defensive specialist, which sounds right up Les' alley. You can see some film of him in practice on his twitter page. Nice looking jump shot and quick off the dribble. Plus good size for the point position. He'll have a lot of opportunity to get minutes.

100% agree. If we can’t get the beef, we need to be so much better at other facets of the game, like 3-pt shooting. Sure would be nice if we could land another Gonzalez type.

he had some other high profile offers but chose UCSB. He’s going to be a load to handle.

Nice addition. Feels like we could use, in addition to more interior size, another wing, basically to take Fullers minutes. Strong might eventually be that guy, but it’d be nice to have someone with D1 experience

Thanks Gauchofreg. I've been keeping an eye on Henry and thought we had a good chance with him, seeing as Milling made the trip down I80 last year and DeAndre mentioned UCD early in his portal life. At 6'7" and 225lbs, he fills a huge need.

Maybe we are waiting for additional transfers to commit. I mean, of course we are going to get additional commits, I just hope they are players who can come in and contribute day 1.

Really only have Anigwe and Bora with any size, and as Mike said, fouls are fairly common. With Murphy and McGill transferring, we absolutely need interior, as well as wing, depth. We do have two intriguing freshman coming in with good size...Mani at 6'8" and Strong at 6'7". But of course it's tough to rely on contributions from freshman.

    Excellent! Welcome aboard Mr. Beasely!

Grizzly board seems to think he's coming to Davis. Of course, you have to read through 4 pages of fans rationalizing that they will be better without him, and a few posts about how going from UM to UCD is such a downgrade. Whatever. He's going to get a great chance to learn from a former NBA guard, and play a lot of minutes close to home. Sounds like a win for all involved.

That would be a great fit. High academic norcal guy. Hopefully your sources are sound! And Mike, you're right, getting Ryan the next year would be a nice combo.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
Sure would be nice if we could talk about additions rather than subtractions. I know there are still a lot of players in the portal looking, so maybe we end up with some quality transfers.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
That is a strange one. I certainly don’t know his situation and or course wish him the best. Just doesn’t make much sense from an outsiders perspective.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
I think, given the current portal culture, coaches have to be open to letting guys looking and maybe coming back.

Update on Fuller is that he’s visiting Montana St.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
That is interesting. Maybe not seeing the attention he was hoping for. We’ll see.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
He’s going to haunt me for the next four years. Or, more likely, for one season before transferring to Middle St tech.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
I've seen Monroe's highlight and he's very much like Manjon. About the same size, same type of finishing around the basket, the occasional deep shot. Seems like he could step right in to the starting lineup. We'll see...

I'm not used to being impatient around this type of stuff, but I'm getting a bit frustrated with all these players going somewhere else and we don't hear boo from the Ags. I know the coaches are working behind the scenes, and we probably won't know who they are targeting until they actually commit. Just wish we knew something...

They must have pretty good intel, though, as that’s not a program I would have guessed.
  • MBB Off-season 2022
    Good for Ezra.

As far as I know, the only three leaving are the ones who graduated, Konrad, Stobbart, and Hall. But news on the women players is a little harder to find.
