I don't think I saw Bora on the bench for either game. I'm guessing he didn't make the trip so maybe(?) an injury or illness. Mani was on the bench, I think, but never took the warmups off. If you've watched enough games, you know that means he wasn't going to play. Maybe a small injury that they were hoping would clear up during the trip, so they brought him along? Don't know if any of this is accurate... Hopefully we get some clarity soon.

I may try to get to this one. Hopefully some guys who haven’t sniffed the court yet will get some time.

Big shift when Idaho’s two “bigs” fouled out in back to back possessions. Aggies drives to the basket became much easier and Idaho was just an outside shooting team at that point. Very good last 5 mins or so. We’ll see how the rematch goes in Davis in December

Yeah that was a rough first half. Settled down a bit once TY got hot. Defense giving up way too many open 3s. After all that, though, only down 3 at half.

Same starters as the UW game

Over the years all our games feel like big letdowns against Idaho, including the NCAA tournament team which lost at Idaho early in the season. Hopefully we come out strong tonight. Maybe we get some healthy bodies back

I think SoCal Aggie was spot on. Leo can probably fill that 3rd or 4th scorer on most nights, but it’d be nice to have the 2nd scorer be a wing. Someone who isn’t to reliant on outside shooting. The announcers mentioned that the Ags were short handed so I imagine Bora, Mani(who I thought I saw on the bench) and several of the newcomers were injured. Hopefully nothing too bad. Chappelle looks like a really nice find. He may have forced a few shots, but the stage didn’t seem too big for a freshman. On to Moscow.

I like our chances of keeping this one close. We have a pretty experienced roster so hopefully that helps against teams that are full of transfers.
  • WBB: Simpson University (Redding, CA) 1-0 at the Aggies (0-0) 6 pm Monday 11/04
I only watched a few minutes of the game. Bennett looks like she will be a real contributor this year and may be an integral player for future seasons. It'll be interesting to watch her development.
  • WBB: 2024-25 Schedule
For what it's worth, the Aggies WBB beat D2 Stanislaus St 105-46 in an exhibition game yesterday in Davis. Aggies were lead in scoring by Mazi Harris with 18, Nya Epps with 17, and Sabel and Norris with 13 a piece. Freshman Ryann Bennet was the only newcomer in double digits with 12. I didn't see the game, and couldn't find the box score on the ucdaggies website, so this is all courtesy of Stanislaus State

Gonna try to make it out to one of the home games remaining. Great season!
  • 2024-25 Men's Basketball Pre-season Discussion
I’d love to hear any info that you get from this gathering. Wednesdays can be crowded at sudwerk as there is a very popular pub quiz that starts at 7:00. Normally I’d be there, but, for those old timers on here, I’ll be at UChicago watching my daughter (Aggie alum and been going to Aggie games since she was born) defend her dissertation for her PhD. Seems like yesterday that she was dancing with the band uh and giving high fives to the players after another Aggie victory.
  • Big West Preview and Countdown
    Thanks Gaucho. Great preview!

It's probably impossible to predict what coach Les will do with the starting lineup before seeing how the new guys are getting on board with the Aggie style. You could be correct at the start of the season (TY, Leo, Daugherty, Rocak and Mani). It wouldn't surprise me to see both Leo and Daugherty come off the bench, eventually, freeing up a starting spot for guys like Robinson/Cooper/Sangster. We know for sure, though, that it will be the guys that are playing the best defense that will get the nod. That's always been Les' MO.
  • Big West Preview and Countdown
Excellent. Look forward to reading it.
  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
Good early signing. Les seems to be getting the 6'5" to 6'7" wing type players (Cooper, Roberson, Sangster, Unuakhalu and Gilchrist) so I'm sure we'll see more positionless style of ball. Good tough athletic switching defense leading to transition baskets, or pull it back out and let TY or others beat the defense off the dribble. Should be a fun team to watch.
  • 2024 Week 5: Idaho (3-1) @ UC Davis (3-1)
Me, my wife, and our friends will be there. Daughter (alumnus) will be watching from Chicago, and son will be taking a break from a bachelor party to check in from SD. Go Ags!!
  • 2024 Week 2: Texas A&M Commerce (0-1) @ UC Davis (0-1)
Porter Conor was testing his lower leg (calf or ankle) sometime in the second quarter (I think). Next time I saw hi he had a clear wrap on it. Just judging by how he was moving it didn’t seem like anything really severe.
  • Portal Watch (2024)
Looks like tough defense leading to transition baskets will be a big part of the philosophy this year. Can’t wait!
