Not that we need more evidence, but today's men's game clearly showed that aggressiveness is more important than just sheer size. NDSU was taller than us, but the men fought for every board on both ends. The women, last night, looked flat footed, looking like they hoped the ball would bounce to them rather than going to get it (obvious simplification). But aggressiveness can be learned (to an extent), so hopefully we see some growth in that from the Ags.

Hopefully the interior defense/rebounding only gets better with Mani and Bora back. Assuming they come back soon. Next game is until the 26th, so there's time for them to get back on the court.

Great win for the Ags. Ade with some clutch baskets down the stretch, and great defense all around. Les has to be pleased with the effort today.

seemed like the youth showed in that last possession. They should never have let TY get a running start and they should have collapsed two guys on him and fouled him if nothing else.

the Irvine loss seems a bit surprising

Top picture is at a practice. Bottom picture, though not quite the same angle, shows the row of seats and the announcer’s table covering up the sign from the camera vantage point.

And it seems like not enough is being said about Svanholm this year. She’s the only D1 bball player currently enrolled in a PhD program. And she’s coming back from major knee surgery. That’s a story that should be shouted!

Both TY and Ade felt the wrath of Les early on. Of course TY got into early foul trouble, but I bet he would have joined Ade on the bench for a lot of the first half regardless. But both, especially Ade, responded with good second halves. I actually think DeBruhl at the point makes the team a better passing/spacing offense. He doesn't have the penetration that TY has, or the speed on the break, but he is definitely a pass first PG.

The 3/4 zone press really got Jessup out of their offensive flow. We'll be seeing this from the Ags quite a bit, depending on the opponent.

I was surprised that Sevilla got the minutes in the first half when TY was in foul trouble and Leo needed a break, and not Carter. Could be that his game is still coming along and that he’ll get more time as the season progresses. As you said, he definitely has the outside shot that we need.
