Funny you mentioned Henn. He was at the Honda center for our game against CSUF. Don't know if he was there for the entire day/tournament, or just there to root on his former teammates. I also thought he'd be a mainstay in the lineup for the Ags.

Good to hear that we may see additional signings. Size is obviously a need, whether we get JC transfer Barisic, or someone else. I do wonder about the numbers. We are graduating 5, and we've already added 5 (JC transfer Johnson, and freshman Manjon, Pepper, Murphy and Gehrke). If there are more additions, do we also see some subtractions?

Looking forward to going to this one. As a fan, I'll be rooting hard for the Ags to pull the huge upset. Realistically, I hope we play to our potential, play hard and smart, and make the plays that we are capable of making. The WBB have been a top performing UCD athletic program for years now, but we haven't been able to take that next step of beating, or really competing closely with a top 25 team. Last few years, here are the scores against top ranked teams:

    2018-19 vs Stanford (#7) 43-71
    2017-18 vs Oregon St (#17) 47-61
    2016-17 vs Stanford (#11) 42-68
    2016-17 vs Oregon St (#15) 52-93
    2015-16 vs Stanford (#16) 45-74

Maybe this is the year...Go Ags!

I agree with EBA, I can't see us scheduling a rigorous schedule as we'll be breaking in quite a few new players, along with an increase in responsibility for several players who got some minutes this year.

As part of the Hardwood Showcase, will we get to host any of the return games (not Arkansas or Indiana)? UT Arlington, Texas A&M CC and Montana State were part of the showcase, although we didn't play Montana St.? And I think i probably say this each year, but with 5 D1 schools in the Bay Area, it'd be nice to play at least a few of them each year, and actually host one or two games.

I get that...I still have a picture of my son in a Dodger's hat...just about killed me!

My daughter (UCD alum also) is home on spring break from UChicago (another lemon C logo school), so we might end up trying to go. We've been to two previous women's games at Stanford (both big losses), but this would certainly be our first NCAA tourney game.

Or stay in Davis, save the ticket $$$ and go to the grad and watch it...hmm.

Plus they beat us by 28 the first game of the season. We are a lot better now (obviously), and at least we won't have the jitters of facing someone we've never seen. Saturday at Stanford (on ESPN2). Let's Go Aggies!

Regardless of who we play, be it Oregon St or Oregon or any other high seed (realtimeRPI.com has us as at NC State...we'll know for sure in a couple of hours), we'll be faced with big athletic opponents. What we'll need to do is use our strengths, Morgan's and Hall's quickness getting to the rim, good outside shooting, and smart aggressive defense. We are an opportunistic team so I'm sure we'll run when we have the chance. Otherwise, we'll run the clock down a bit, try to get Morgan or Hall working in space so they can use their quickness, and set up plenty of screens to free up our shooters.

I think the other recruit at the Honda center might have been Evanne Turner. Looks like a shooter

I’ll take a stab. In the first half our defense, especially our perimeter defense was very soft. To uh credit they hit their open shots. Uh scored 22 in the first quarter and 28 the rest of the way. On offense we started out alright but once we missed a few we got timid and passed on good looks. Second half we were much more aggressive on defense extending way out to their shooters. And once the momentum switched we started playing with confidence. Song played a great game defensively. Also the refs started calling things a bit closer in the second half which helped because uh was really pushing us around.

Going to come down to the 4th. Ags down by 6

Defense was much better in the 2nd quarter. But they are playing very tight on offense.
  • WBB Big West Conference Tournament March 12-16
Rough first quarter. Need to settle down on offense and pressure their guards on defense

Almost game time. Let’s go Aggies!

Just FYI Kenedy Lily was at the game yesterday wearing her Aggie blue and gold. Can’t wait to watch her play. She’s physically imposing. I’m pretty sure there was another recruit in the crowd but I’m not sure who she was
