much better intensity from the Ags. Up 17-8 after 1

Seems like a great opportunity for Svanholm to get time on the court in meaningful games during her mandatory red shirt year. Hopefully that international experience will help her step right into a high contributing position next year for the Ags.

Of course this is nowhere near a must win game for the ags (last year's squad lost to Montana and Port St early on and was still arguably the best team in aggie wbb history), but it is important to see some improvement from opening night. Fresno is coming off a clobbering of SLO by 27 (although SLO lead at half), lead by freshman twin guards. The ags need a leader to step up, perhaps Toole and/or Hall, to take control of the game when things start to go a bit south. The Eaton's were excellent at that last year.

    Go Ags!

so one of the blue devils qb is Luke Carrell, whose dad Scott is a faculty adviser for UCD athletics ( and an Econ professor). And his older brother Zach plays baseball at UCD (or at least he committed to UCD coming out of hs). After following a lot of tough seasons while both my kids went there it sure is nice to see them get some success

Nick Amoah #73 has started the last two games at left tackle. Not sure if it’s because of an injury or if he worked his way up the depth chart, but it’s nice to see a local Davis kid doing good. And he’s an aerospace engineer major...gotta love UC Davis!

    hopefully learned a little tonight.

haven’t seen so many missed open shots and poor decisions on offense in a long time. And the defense was not aggressive at all. Rough

Wow we really need to practice our layups

My guess on the redshirts are Svanholm (mandatory) and Lily, with Jones being a possible. That would leave us with only Gibbs as a true backup to Stobbart (which is why Jones is "if" for me). But, for a lot of teams we play against, I think we could get away with Konrad, Hall and Bessolo (all listed as 6'0") along the front line. Heck, throw in Song at 5'11" and Gray at 5'10" and that's a pretty strong lineup without a true post player.

If you didn't watch either of the exhibition games, definitely look out for Campbell Gray. A true freshman who does not play like a freshman, a very poised and confident player. She and Trpcic will form a lethal combo at the point.

    Go Ags!

If i remember correctly, Coach Gross played around with the lineup early on last year (not necessarily the starting lineup, but minutes and combinations off the bench). I imagine we'll see something similar this year as she tries to figure out who needs to be on the court with whom.

Should be a good contest tonight. Go Ags!

yeah I saw that about Diane. He’s a stud. Will he back next quarter? Just in time for conference games?

109-63 final. Everyone scored for the Ags. Good solid beat down. As BGA has said there is talent. It’ll take some time, and I’m still concerned about the interior, but we should be fun to watch.

Jessup has decided to not worry about defense. Ags up 90-51 with 7:24 left. A lot of free layups and wide open 3’s

51-32 at half. I swear Manjon is a clone of shorts. It’s going to be a real pleasure to watch him play for 4 years

Ags up 27-15 at the 10 min break. Starters wer Manjon peppers printup Koehler and squire. They worked much better on defense. Mooney and neufeld were the first off the bench

I agree that we have no one to replace GG. I was hoping that Harris and Murphy could do it in at least spurts but both seem to be red shirting this year. We’ll need the week side defender to collapse but that’s the team work that needs to get better throughout the ooc.

it was alarming to hear 'backdoor cut' over and over and over (usually followed by cheering!)

You should see some of the texts from my son who was watching on-line. They went from "back door cut" to "BACK DOOR CUT" to "ANOTHER GOD DAMN BACK DOOR CUT".

Thanks for the heads up on the free tickets. I'm curious to see how this young team rebounds from a pretty disheartening loss. I know the level of competition is different, but we should see the effort, hustle, and confidence regardless of the name of the other teams jersey. Manjon looked like he belonged on the court. I also liked how Peppers was not afraid to take his shot, even though the results weren't what we needed. And maybe most importantly, does Fuller continue to grow accustomed to his role down low next to Neufeld. Go Ags!

So sorry PA. We are praying for you and your family

I thought my son was going to Explode watching that game. Seemingly no defensive adjustment at half to deal with the back cuts. Yeah I didn’t expect to win either but you would think we’d see changes once we saw how they were playing. I hope William Jessup isn’t too much for us Thursday

Rough game. Some bright spots from Manjon peppers and Koehler but a lot of work to do on team defense. No where to go but up I guess. Didn’t see Harris so I guess he is red shirting
