  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
ouch! that's awful - did they delay the broadcast for an earlier game do you think?
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
Has anyone had luck synching up the TV with Scott's broadcast?
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
But I think I've strayed into religious ground now. <grin>
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
The Band-uh sorta did it to themselves. I think.
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
The band hasn't traveled for years though. Which isn't great. But they sometimes can't even show up for home basketball games which really frosts me.

Boy - CP owning the line of scrimmage
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
    good recovery defense

That was too easy. Fascinating that both the #1 and #2 teams are both losing in the FCS.
  • Jon Wilner article on NCAA chaos
    ↪SochorField
This is exactly the Super Conference that the media are lurking to bid on, isn't it? There's this new streaming venture out there in the wings with ESPN/Disney/??? that wants those rights. After that we've just shoved all the rest down into what is now the FCS scrambling for some $$$ and TV time.

It's all insane. Football has totally distorted college athletics so much it's not recognizable any more. The smaller sports, the Olympic sports, are left in the dust
  • Sacramento Kings star Mike Bibby to become Sacramento State's men's basketball coach
    ↪movielover

You might remember the first year but I remember the horrific game where UOP Pacific came and ran off to something like a 20-2 start and it never got better. Stewart left with the program in shambles. Jim Les started from pretty much scratch.
  • Post-Season for the Big West
Rough start for the Anteaters but they rallied to come back for a tie at the half.

Not a big crowd - so many empty seats - even the good ones

Good point. Ah the joys of recruiting.

    Go Aggie Women!!!

They should be feeling good after their first win in Henderson.

I see UCSD is kicking some serious Hawai’i behind at the end of the first half. Up more than 20. Whew.
  • MBB: 2025 Big West Tournament. Cal Poly (14-18, 8-12) v. UC Davis (15-16, 9-11) Wed. Mar. 12 8:30 pm
    Let's dump the coach? Really?

Unless something has loosened up in Mrak you're going to have trouble pulling in athletes that can get into UCD. Money? Football is going to suck that up.

Face it: We're not in Irvine or Santa Barbara or anywhere else in the Southland or the Bay Area. Sacramento isn't interested in UCD - they have Sac State. We have farmers and some alum. The new college game is about the $$$ and we don't have that. We'll get some TV money from Mountain West. But you KNOW that will go to football.

TY stayed here because he wanted to. UCD had something to offer him. I hope it was the school and the coaching staff. It sure wasn't NIL money.

Not exactly a jam packed house. Less than 1,000?

    And they don't stop yacking!

Not a fan of this announcing team - seem to be pushing the Cal Poly story

  • WBB: 2024-25 Big West Tournament Scores
The Riverside / Long Beach game was a real snoozer with 31 points total scored in the first half. The Highlanders came alive from outside in the 2nd half. Two not great games.
  • WBB: UC Davis (18-11, 12-7) at UC San Diego (17-14, 13-6) Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 PM
That was a stunning 4th quarter. 29 points?? Egad! That was just amazing to watch. Sabel just found some new level. There was excellent ball movement. I wish they'd start stronger. My heart can't take much more of this! <grin>
