• Pinnick honors
The type of guy the coaches need to find a way to touch the ball, it sounds like.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Just breezed through Sac's X.....looks like they are recruiting across the country. I'd guess to help with FBS aspirations (getting the name out)?
2 HS commits from Florida, 1 HS commit from Pennsylvania.

I personally haven't seen Eason touch a football so I have idea on him. Cleeland from what I saw at UW (and some x/hudle stuff)looks extremely physically capable. Good size 6'2" 220# and looks like he can move around a bit, with a cannon.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Sac needs to get rid of this guy. Sac will play at an "upgraded Hornet stadium in 2026"? They aren't upgrading sh*t. Maybe some more folding tables and EZ-Ups in the end zones and some ad signs.
Nobody listens to this guy anymore. He has ZERO credibility.

That's why they play the games!

The playoffs are always a good reminder of the limited support this program hasLeFan

While playoff attendance utterly sucks across the country, you aren't wrong.
Going from 17,000 vs. Southern Utah to (presumably) 6,000 in a playoff game on national TV is wild. Goes to show how much people in CA (students and community) care about the actual football.

This can change though! I think Plough has things moving in a good direction, but he needs some real commitment from the people in Mrak, etc. Can't do it by himself, and neither could Hawk. It takes more than an energetic HC and AD.

I've noticed that teams have really dialed up the QB pressure in the 2nd half of the season. I don't have evidence to prove it, but Pinnick has been chased from the pocket more often in his last 4 games. He also appears to have around a second less to get rid of the ball. (yes, Sac and MSU d-lines were superior, but overall it looks like teams are sending more guys more often to force him into bad decisions).

My post was about the RI forum. Not tickets. Got my tix!

Been waiting for my confirmation email for a week....

    Should they all have expectations?Riveraggie

    Yep!
    According 247:
Fisher had offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, Montana State, etc.
Vargas had offers from Nevada, UAB, Army Boston College, etc.
Jackson had an offer from Washington State

Its weird seeing a 1-1 Ivy League team playing a 4-1 CAA team. Nearly half a season has taken place for Ivy opponents by October.

Also, what is RI's stadium situation? Is that a temp. thing? Looks like a soccer stadium. I can't get on their board....

But in regards to Lan not getting carries earlier. Carter was a 3 star who turned down fbs to come to DavisAggienation818

This is a good point. He has expectations, and rightly so.

Yeah I think Mitch is a dog though!Aggienation818
Absolutely. So fun seeing him get touches. The place goes crazy for him. I wish he could have be utilized more over the years. To my eye, 85% of his work has been done in the locker room and practice field. He's an all-time great Aggie to me.
  • Transfer Portal
I’m not a fan of slighting fisher when he’s more efficient in every statistic and dosent give up the ball.EverythingAgs

I see no slighting of Fisher here. Everyone here agrees he's a great Aggie I'm sure.
  • Transfer Portal
He didn’t sit behind Lan last year, he sat behind Matteo Perez and that is the biggest slap in the face to Fisher I’ve ever seen. I wondered about that all last year.Aggienation818

Same here. I think Plough rewards "program guys" like Mateo and Mitch Dixon. I think its smart- when done carefully. I'm glad Jordan was patient and was able to see the big picture.

As a total outsider (not friend or family), I think Carter is being a little impatient here. He has 3 more years to flourish at Davis. Lan only had 58 and 65 carries his first 2 full seasons '21-'22. Carter carried 67 times as a Frosh this year. Lan made an NFL roster with only 2 years of heavy carries in college.
Vargas is highly physically gifted. I'd love to see what he can do in the backfield and being further incorporated in the passing game. He appears to be a very gifted receiver too. If Lan caught 62 for 800 in 2024, imagine what Carter could do with his athletic ability.
A guy like Trent Tompkins might be a good guy for Carter to remember. He wasn't QB1, RB1 or WR1 (though I'm sure he believed he could be any one of those) but he was all over the place, essential to the team's success, and an absolute fan favorite.

AND, just because he's entering the portal, it doesn't mean he's leaving- we've had guys look around but end up staying. This might not be about carries or catches, but just seeing what else it out there. No harm in that.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
Well, with all that I would agree!
  • Pinnick honors
I'm not sure how good Pinnick is on the baseball field. If he is thinking about being drafted, it might not be smart to take $1m and give up baseball (no FBS program investing that kind of money is going to allow him to play baseball).

Turning down $1m to stay at Davis isn't that crazy if he can play football and be a 1st-3rd round draft pick + sign for $1m-$3m after his Junior year.
Again, I don't know how good he is at baseball.

    Boring? That’s subjective.Sailorgabe
Correct. I thought the Big West was boring and was holding Davis back. The Mountain West is a growth opportunity for Davis (hence the facilities improvement plan going into the MWC).
