Gross has always been slow about playing her bigs together. Not sure why. Svanholm and Stobbart only entered the game late together. This was similar to situations where the Ags needed height in previous seasons, but Gross was slow to put in Bertsch with Stobbart at the same time. Luckily the Aggies were able to make a comeback yesterday and play good defense. In the past, the adjustments were made too late and they lost.

Makes sense. But ucd won’t do it. This is a school that sees no value in physical education as evidenced by its abrupt elimination of those course offerings this past academic year.

Hawk is good at halftime adjustments. I don’t think the defense has performed bad at all. Holding them scoreless in the first Q was great. But the offense needs a spark. Maybe we will see more Tompkins later.

UCD has done a really poor job over the years getting its branding out and plastering the norcal area with ucd symbols. Obviously Davis isn’t Berkeley. But it still makes me go “ugh” when I see more people wearing Cal gear in Davis than folks in Aggie gear. Don’t know if this is a pride thing or if people just get tons of giveaway goodies. What happened to Aggie Pride?!

Very true. They’re going through the same issue with the C/A logo right now.

My Bay Area friends often ask what the symbol represents or even means. The abrupt switch from the horse to the retro logo has a lot of non-ucd familiar people confused. At the same time, the new (old) logo seems to only be used by athletics, while the rest of the university uses different logos. Not a united presentation like Cal or Stanford have.

yes. They often have audio issues or cut away to the wrong angles. Glad we will have someone with ucd knowledge calling the broadcast rather than someone calling us cal-Davis or the Eggies.

based on minutes last season I think we will be seeing a lot more from PG /F Allie Carreon. Turner, who could honestly make a run at BWC MVP if she continues playing like she did toward the end of this past season, could possibly handle the ball too.
