• Aggies vs Bears
Big Cal run at the end of the 1st but we look like we belong on that field today.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Doss has 8 targets. I just turned in the game and according to Twitter - 2 bad drops.

Is the big target to catch discrepancy on doss or bad throws?

see an im feeling way worse than most people posting. After TJ and potentially Siler, we have a HUGE drop off in offense.

    We have:
    - very solid Defense
    - decent/solid inside scoring
    - the best floor general in the league with TJ
    - discipline: we honestly run one of the most beautiful and intelligent offenses in CB. I think in part to the fact that we don’t have true scorers

    We don’t have:
    - a single player player outside of TJ and maybe siler who can score on their own
    - consistent shooting especially from 3pt land.

My feeling is that scoring is tough for this team. If we fall behind, I don’t feel confident that we can make those much needed runs. TJ is an absolute machine. Every time he has the ball im yelling at the screen “put the team on your back!”

Little to no scoring support for him though. His assists would be way up if we had some knock down shooters which would in turn also open the lane for him to score more easily. Until we prove we can shoot it’s going to be very easy for teams to clog the middle and play support D.

I think we are bottom half for sure as the big west is loaded this year.

Jim Les, while intense, is an incredible coach. This team lacks talent but is pretty disciplined and incredibly smart. If we had the athletes that say SB, Fullerton, Or Irvine have, he’s the coach that could take the team to the next level.

My main focus when it comes to basketball is March madness. I view it as the opportunity to put Davis on the map and bring in the recruits that we all want to see. The team we should have had last year (TJ & Chima) was our best bet to make the MM upset alert. Anything can happen though and I’m sure this team will continue to grow. With how “old” this team is in terms of seniority, you’d wish we’d be in a better spot and the rebuilding would be happening the following year.
  • MBB 12/30: Aggies (3-9) @ USC (6-6)
Also, a note about silar. When he first started for Davis, his role was a spot up shooter and he was pretty solid.

His growth over 4 years has been incredible. He drives to the lane with power and makes some impressive shots. Compare his skill set now to his freshman year and his growth is amazing. His spot up shooting has been a little underwhelming this year but I have to Imagine a large part of that is due to him expelling a ton of energy with driving to the hoop. Just something to think about with his role on this roster. We need people like Mooney, or any of the new guys to hit shots.

I’m worried that we are about to enter a bad stretch when TJ graduates.

it’s funny. For the past few years we’ve had amazing 3 point shooting - Ryan sypkens, Tyler Les, the list goes on. I think two years we were in the top 10 in the nation, with one year being 3rd!Those years we had major rebounding issues which killed us.

Now our team has completely flip flopped, solid rebounding but no shooting of any kind.

We’ve also just missed with our roster by about a year each time. We had Corey Hawkins who was gone when Chima started and then The Chima TJ time frame never lined up either.

Could you imagine if either of those guards would have been able to play with Chima?!

Following up on my point of not having anybody who can create in their own outside of TJ.

It would be nice to have some knock down shooters.

We have solid rebounding, defense and TJ. Would be great to have knockdown shooting right about now.
