“ Although the temperature looks fine and there will not be any moisture, the wind is going to play a factor in this game. A northwest wind of 20 to 30 with gusts higher are forecasted. This will make it really challenging to throw the ball, especially moving from south to north. The last two weeks UC Davis is surrendered 211 and 192 yards on the ground. This is a game where the #605Hogs will need to show up from the jump and dominate in the trenches. UC Davis has a big defensive line that has some depth. The Jacks have the best 1-2 punch at running back in the FCS. It’s time to lean on the hogs and Pierre and Isaiah to get this win.”
“ UC Davis is excellent on special teams and they may have the best punter the Jacks will face this year along with two dangerous return men. The wind will make life challenging for both kickers and kicking to the north will likely mean that there will be returns in the kick game so it’s time for the kick coverage unit to show out. Punting to the north will require low, rugby style kicks so the ball doesn’t get hung up and blown backwards. Finally, the place kicking, and we’ve seen it before, will be a challenge on the north goal post. The wind just howls between the gap in the Dana and the SJAC. The Jacks SHOULD be a little more familiar with the elements that the team will be facing on Saturday and that will hopefully tilt the scales in the Jackrabbits favor.”
