FWIW I had to call the ticket office today and the rep said they're still treating the game as if it would be on. It would be very late, like Friday night, if they made a determination that it needed to be cancelled. Air quality in auburn/colfax area looked decent this weekend, except in evenings. An 11 AM game would be fine at Colfax, and it's just up I80.

remember, supposedly there is a bidding process the first round, no seeds outside of top 8. I don't think there's a way for us to guarantee not having a home game

Pretty sure this doesn't necessarily exclude Davis from getting an ESPN2 or U game this year. The ESPN3 broadcasts are from a Big West-specific unit that only operates in SoCal. The nationally broadcast games are "wildcard" picks that they normally wouldn't schedule this early in the season. Remember that during the first conference-winning season, the second ESPN date was only announced in January or something after Davis won the first one in OT.

I had almost forgotten what it was like to see an Aggie team get slaughtered; this week was a reminder. Brings me back to undergrad.

But I don't think/want to believe the sky is falling for the men or women. Looks like both of them were having bad days against quite good teams. (Stanford especially has an unrealistic height advantage on the Ags that Big West opponents won't have.)

Dons are good, Aggie shots aren't falling. I turned it off, I'm kinda suffering from information overload tonight with multiple monitors going. Bad idea after work.

Only consolation is Dons are starting to miss more shots and racking up a lot of fouls. Never say die

You can sometimes see a popup -- at least on mobile -- saying that you already voted. I think they stop it at least for the same day.

A few comments about the gameday experience that I didn't around to last night.

1. They oversold the high school band section and when I walked in they didn't have a seat. I was ready to get mad but the event staffer I talked to was super professional, called a deputy AD over, and he got me a new ticket. Apparently they tried to call everyone in that section, but it being election season I haven't been responding to unidentified calls for the last few weeks. I can't bring myself to be too critical because they handled it so smoothly.

2. Cutting off Jen Gross at the start of the interview was not a good look. Women's Basketball was the first of the revenue sports to achieve consistent dominance in the last few years and deserves every ounce of respect the department can muster. I'm not sure exactly what the best way to avoid that would have been, but surely there was a slightly larger timeslot available somewhere else in the schedule. (They did give WBB the spotlight eventually, but the team had to just awkwardly stand in a line on the field for another half quarter for the opportunity to present itself.)

3. Student showing was really bad. There were some yard signs about the game around campus and apparently they did a ticket distribution at the MU again, but whatever marketing they did wasn't enough. I will however give the marketing folks a little slack because I saw that there was some Resource Fair inconveniently on the quad at noon (with free food; you know how that draws students) and some freshmen told me there was a formal event in the evening that I think had to do with Greek life. The Greek students are probably a more active and spirited than the general population so that might have actually been a significant loss. (I'm assuming many decided to skip the game in order to not have to rush home and change and prepare.)

4. Agreed, the new MC is really good. Exudes energy and Aggie Pride. Also, it's a really good look to have the same face of the gameday experience as the Sacramento Kings; they put on a pretty good show over there from what I saw at a preseason game.

Trying to decide whether I want ISU to win for SoS purposes or PSU to win for conference championship purposes

Also, New Hampshire wasn't terrible last time I saw them against SDSU. They had a solid game plan and were able to battle for a while, until they got outmatched by FBS speed. If it's the same coach as back then, he seemed like he knew what he was doing in terms of playing up to competition.

I've heard criticism of the JMU offense; they're supposedly not explosive like the Ags are. This might be a bigger hurdle for them than it would be for the Ags or another good spread team.
