  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
I don't know why Sac State stays with the freshman QB. He isn't having a good day at all. I suspect we might see Bennett start the second half.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
The defense is playing out of its mind. Sac State has only 23 total yards, 3 on the ground.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Hastings is looking better than I've seen him all season so far.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
It doesn't look like the weather is going to be a factor? Is the field wet?
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
The O-line is getting a great push, driving the Sac State defenders two yards back on the run plays. They need to keep that up.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Run the ball down the Hornets' thoraxes.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
I only know what I see in the stats. Fulcher and Tau-Tolier don't get many carries, combined abut 14 per game. The second leading rusher is the quarterback, Bennett. Larison averages well over 20 alone and gets 6.5 yards per carry. So it seems that the Hornets depend more on their passing attack.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Seems like a wet field might favor the Aggies since Sac State no longer has a stud running back. Thier leading rusher averages only 46 yards per game.

That's a very cool promo. Anyone know if the Chancellor ever played football?
  • MBB: North Dakota State (2-1) vs the Aggies (2-1) 1 pm Tuesday 11/14
I wonder why the North Dakota State coaching staff did not pick up on the Zone to Man switch. I can't believe they didn't see it when we played Montana since they must have had scouts watching both teams on Sunday. The problem with that defense is that when we start in a zone, sometimes we stay in it and sometimes it becomes a matchup zone, so hard for the players on the court to adjust on the fly. It's brilliant defense IMHO.

I agree with all of the above. I just wish guys like Lose and Manu and even Milling would be more aggressive on offense. They all pass on a lot of open shots preferring to pass the ball or drive closer to the basket where they miss more contested attempts.

I liked the fact that, despite the height disadvantage, the Aggies held a big advantage on the offensive glass, 18-10. That gave us 9 more shots, making up for the poor percentage.

The commentator has called DeBruhl "Led" a number of times, so it has to be that he is seeing the "o" as a "d."

This game gives us an answer to the question: Where do the Ags get their scoring when Pepper is not shooting all that well? The answer: No one. Pepper just shoots more and UCD outscores opponents at the foul line.
  • MBB: North Dakota State (2-1) vs the Aggies (2-1) 1 pm Tuesday 11/14
Good to see Pepper heat up at the end of the half. Up to then, over half of his points had been on charity shots.

Interesting to listen to the play-by-play guy when he's neutral as opposed to when he was rooting for Montana on Sunday. He's not bad at doing both the play-by-play and the commentary.

I tuned in late. Did anyone say why TY didn't start? Maybe because DeBruhl has played better lately?
  • Come Back Coach Hawk
I'm pretty sure that Dan Hawkins put Boise State football on the map with his 53-11 record in the WAC and three top 25 finishes before handing the reins to Chris Peterson. At the time, the WAC was roughly what the Mountain West is now, so the level of competition was a step tougher than the Big Sky. I guess his success had a bit to do with Boise State's softer admission standards, but I can't imagine that back inn 2000, many quality players were enticed to go there, so Hawk must have done some great coaching against a harder schedule, so my question is: What happened to him at UC Davis?
  • MBB: Aggies (2-0) @ Montana (1-1) 6 pm Sunday 11/12
I know I heard that this game was part of the Mike Montgomery Tournament and we're playing North Dakota State tomorrow as part of it, but I think I heard that Montana then plays NDSU on Thursday. I never heard of a three team tournament before, so I checked and sure enough, the MM "Classic" (I love how they call almost every team a classic; hyperbole is not dead) has only three times with games spread out over 5 days. I guess that helps the economy up there in Missoula.
  • MBB: Aggies (2-0) @ Montana (1-1) 6 pm Sunday 11/12
In addition to 19 turnovers and 7 for 11 shooting from the foul line, the Ags didn't give Pepper any help. Only DeBruhl had double figures with 11 and he was the only other Aggie to hit a 3.

I didn't catch the name of the broadcaster, but he has to be one of the more biased ones I've ever heard. His enthusiasm for good plays by Montana is more than annoying. I also wonder about his knowledge of the game when he keeps suggesting that the Ags foul when down by double digits.
