  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
Historical trivia: From 1922 to 1959m Idaho was a member of the Pacific Coast Conference along with Cal, Stanford, UCLA, etc. Idaho won very few games and almost always finished last (exception being a first place finish in 1927 with a 2-0-2 conference record) in football and not much better in other sports. The PCC fell apart amidst all kinds of scandals, but pretty much re-formed as the Pac 8, minus the Vandals.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
As scary as Shaheed is, I thought that one of the unsung heros of the game was Daniel Whelan. His hang time is so huge that Shaheed only returned 2 punts for a total of 8 yards and had to fair catch 5 more. The guy averages 12.5 yards per punt return for his career and I wouldn't be surprised to see him returning punts and kickoffs in the NFL, maybe even a few punts by Whelan.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I hate to point this out, but Weber State got hurt badly by some poor calls. Still, a win is a win and no ref helped Tompkins get into the end zone. Very exciting. I'm getting too old for this.

Despite everything, Ags still have a chance to win, but Rodrigues has to find his accuracy.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I agree with agalum. We didn't see the play all the way through.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I like the Weber State broadcasters. They do a pretty good job of being impartial.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I'm more concerned about the offense. Larison has one carry for 1 yard. Rodriques has not been at all sharp. Play calling needs to start keeping Wildcats off balance. It looks like they know what's coming.

    Interception! Just as good.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
    Get a safety guys!
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Why are they calling so many quarterback draws?
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Great stop. Hope the momentum changes now.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
At least the special teams are doing well. :(
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Three Wildcat possessions. Until the last one, Ags D was doing okay.
  • FCS Polls Week 3
Does anyone have a sense of which poll is the most legitimate? Wikipedia credits two, non-computer based polls as having the weight of determining playoff seedings. One is a media poll and one is a coaches poll and both are on the NCAA website. Still, I wonder if any of the other ones are more valid based on your experience in checking them over the years.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
DrMike, yes Scott Barry was doing the color and Marsh the play by play. I thought they did a very good job. They were probably biased but it didn't affect they way they called the game. For Aggies alums, it was nice to hear Barry allude to his days as a QB playing for Jim Sochor and following on the heels of Ken O'Brien.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
I can't recall watching a game that was--for lack of a better word--clumsily officiated. But it was great to see all those students there and the Aggie offense score so readily: 113 points in two games. I agree that the defense needs to play a lot better to have a prayer of beating Weber State.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
The D-line hasn't been able to pressure the QB enough without blitzing, which has exposed the secondary.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
Scott Barry. He was drafted by Bill Walsh and the 49ers in 1985.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
I wonder is the 2 point conversion the Aggies made fired up the Trailblazers?
