  • FCS Polls After Week 11
A couple of polls (versus and CFP) have UC Davis at #23.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
    Two questions:

    1. Does the win over Idaho put UC Davis into the top 25? Seems like this is the kind of marquee victory that should do it.
    2. Does it now matter if we lose to Sac State as far as getting into the playoffs is concerned? Or, alternately, does a win over Sac State pretty much guarantee a spot in the playoffs?

I am not at all familiar with how the decisions are made, but if it anything like the NCAA basketball tournament selections, factors like more recent games, strength of schedule, the loss of key players at some point in the season who have returned (Buchanan and Pettek, for example). In other words, how are the teams now as opposed to halfway through the season?

I didn't see the same energy tonight, not even as much as in the second half vs. CMA. Shooting improved in the second half, but the defense and rebounding just weren't there. As oldbanduhalum implied, Loyola had some pretty beefy players that were just shoving us around all over the court. Given that UCR beat these guys in the same court, it is a bit worrisome. It will be interesting to see how the Lions do against UCI at Irvine.

Ags are relying to much on jacking up a quick 3 pointer. That's not working very well.

I note that UCR managed to pull out their game against the Lions after trailing by 9 with 8:47 to go. They took the lead with 4:15 to go and hung on to win by 2.

Guess we might win. Pepper scores 10 points in the first 3 minutes of the half!

Looks like the 3s aren't falling and neither are the free throws. 2 for 10 from the arc and a pathetic 1 for 6 from the foul line. 4 of 10 and 4 of 6 and the score is 40-40.

Sorry I missed what seems like a pretty solid Aggie victory. Idaho never got closer than 12 points in the second half. Now I have to see how the basketball team is doing.

31-7! Well, this has been more fun I've had since...Monday when the Ags upset Cal, but I have to go to an event and will miss the second half. Hope UCD can hold on and not see any tables turned.

Not sure why the Vandals ran the ball three times and none inside the tackles where their O-line was opening up the holes that got them their TD. I'll take it. Ags have 222 total yards to 95 for Idaho.
Special teams doing well on both ends.

I'd say that we responded just fine. Did anyone see this coming?

Someone needs to tell the Idaho play-by-play guy that it isn't Thompson, it's Tompkins. I guess he can't see the jersey?

I think there are more players from California on the UI team than from Idaho.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
Idaho's O-line was able to push the Ags D-line without much trouble on that drive.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
Two possessions, two great drives. The Ags playing as they have something to prove: that they are whole lot better than their record. D needs to keep stepping up as well.

TD Larison! Was that too easy?!!

I guess all of the major conferences how have their own network? Maybe the Sac State game will be on the Big Sky Net.

I can't find the UCD-LMU game on ESPN+ and it is not indicated on the ESPN Aggie schedule as an ESPN+ game, so it might not be available today. Four other games are similarly indicated as not being on ESPN+ including Sac State and UCLA, but the UCLA game will certainly be on the Pac-12 Network.

Glad to see so many going to the game to support the Aggies. Good thing it's indoors. I see the temperature this afternoon is in the upper 30s. I've only been to Moscow once when I visited my sister who is a EE prof at WSU right across the border. Seems like a nice college town. Go Ags!

I just sped watched the game between Cal and Kansas State. KSU finished last in the Big-12 last year, so this figured to be a winnable game for theBears who should have been up for it after losing to the Aggies. Instead, they showed the same lack of shooting and rebounding prowess in the first half and were down 36-21 at the half. K-State stretched the lead to 20 before Cal found some mojo midway through the second half as they did against UCD and cut a 42-22 lead to 46-46 before the Wildcats stepped up their defense and closed it out 63-54. Cal did play much better in this game overall and Kansas State is supposed to be much improved over last year with a Sagarin rating in the 80s. Still, Cal could have won and any wins by the Golden Bears make us look good.
