He better hurry it up. NCAA is going to do away with graduate transfers at its next meeting per NYT.
  • MBB Signs 3 New Players
In the Les world guards win games. I do not know if this is right or wrong.
  • Where’s the new equestrian coach?
Lost again to Fresno at Fresno 16-3. Again very few points from the western riders. Season is now over. Expect a huge improvement next season when coach is able to actually effectively recruit able riders.

Sorry, but is the Martina reference a joke or true? I was an ardent fan of hers for years, but BW basketball and she lives in Miami? I Don’t get it. Born right handed, Did you know she taught herself to play left handed? And very well she played. Probably the best woman tennis player ever IMO.

Looking ahead to next year; a team led by Cierra, Nina, Sophia and Sage is a lot to build around. We lost 3 starters last year and did very well and a great coach like Jen can get much done with this group as well. Sanders had flashes of talent, but needs to hit the training table to add some quickness. If Sage could develope her footwork a bit she would be much better and she is very good now. Disappointed that McKweon never got her shot going. Konrad may be the Aggie star of the future. Figure that Lily will RS. The firery Trpcic could be the wildcard that ignites the offense. The big Scottish gal could add some needed muscle on the boards, but that is a Sage strength wall. Overall, the Aggies look very good for next year.

The gym I go to in Sonoma is very Stanford oriented. Yet, they know and do love Morgan. Not yet real keen on UC Davis, but some few alums there too. In the obscure locker/steam room world where the so called and very obnoxious experts deliver their opinions it is this: Stanford will play zone and try and lock down Morgan with doubles or even triples low. They will then hope/dare that the Aggies will not shoot well from the 3. Very simple plan. It might just work. But if we knock down some 3s and Morgan gets inside for shots or fouls this plan will not work IMHO. We can actually win this game!

Funny that the main problem in all of this is the so-called “recruited walk on in the Olympic sports” not the major college sports. And many of the sports involved are big roster woman’s sports like rowing and according to todays NYT article these sports are often used by colleges to achieve “equivalancy” for TIX purposes. That explains why rowing teams often have a 125+ Roster for only 20 allowed scholarships. It might also explain why Texas A&M’s equestrian team has a 60 roster for only 15 scholarships. Anyway, Singer saw this as an opening that he could exploit and exploit it he did.
  • The Fate of the Grad
I have heard that Bob Dunning is on this. Good news!
  • The Fate of the Grad
I have posted before why not break up the Whole Foods space into some smaller units? Or use the Gap space that is leaving? Joel Friedman is a tireless worker for his projects there and he is a UC Davis supporter. He would get it done. But I know a divorce can really screw up a good business like the Grad.

    Absolutely great!! Love our gals!

AO I agree. I think that Jens recruiting (always very good) is picking up significantly now with her success, her team’s success and more importantly the fact that they love and adore her for many reasons. She is a huge huge asset to our ICA. Actually, probably the best coach ever for WBB here. She will take her Aggie women to Stanford and will impress. Thats why we play the game, right?

Run? The twins can run and run and run. I am not that worried about the Oregon State size as I am about how we defend the perimeter because thats where they get their points. Hall and Nina will get the RBs.

Thanks BGA. I think you need to see these kinds of games for your spiritual health more than once. I confess I gave up on the Ladies for awhile and did some yard work very depressed. Yet look what happened! These gals are totally winners no matter what happens down the line. I truly believe that most of them will become great successes in whatever they do after graduation.

Is there any way to watch this again?
  • WBB Signs High Scoring 6'5 Center
According to the ESPN announcers statements in the UCI game, the Aggies coaching staff is known nationally for developing bigs to their fullest potential. ESPN guys also noted that Jen Gross is “one of the best and most respected women’s basketball coaches in the nation.” Thats some potent praise if I don’t say so myself.

I am not so much into superlatives, but this was one of the best games I have ever seen the Aggie women play against a very good Irvine team. Yes and in a fairly hostile, cold place to play in the Honda Center. I hope the BWC gets out of there ASAP. You gotta love our Gals!!!

And Olivia’s comment on the whole thing: “well, I really never wanted to go to college anyway.” Simply unbelievable that such human beings exist. I must also strongly disagree with the prosecutions decision not to charge the students, but rather classifying them as unknowing “victims”. What total nonsense. These kids knew exactly what was going on. As such they participated in a criminal conspiracy and should be charged along with their parents.

72 Well, they can always survive by just paying someone to take all their tests and do their homework. Remember the WalMart heiress who paid $20,000 to another student to do just that? Where did this happen? USC in 2004. Where else. . . .
  • Aggie Softball Pitcher Throws a Perfect Game Against Sac State
Brooke is apparently like a Sandy Koufax. She cannot be hit when she is on fire like the great Sandy. I was at the Stick and saw Sandy throw curveballs that the Catcher could not often even catch. Great guy too.

Hate to follow, but this is just so bad. One of the USC girls involved, Olivia Jade Gianelli, only learned about this thing while she was spring breaking on a yacht in the Bahamas owned by the billionaire Chairman of the USC Board of Truesstes, Rick Caruso. The USC corruption situation is actually beyond belief. We all thought she was a varsity rower!! She never laid a hand on an oar. Clever by too much!!!!
