Well, sac wanted a blowout for their being blown out last year and they did not get it. A hard fought game that we lost. But, we have the future to look to. Go Ags.
  • CAUSEWAY 2019
Do be careful in their parking lot. They will be very aggressive. A lot of alcohol going down, i think they still serve during the game. Bad news for us Aggie fans. Stay safe.

GOT AN EMAIL FROM AN OLD FRIEND (SAC ST. GRAD) IN SAC WHO HASN’T BEEN TO A SAC GAME IN 30+/- YEARS. HE’S GOING TOMORROW WITH A BUNCH OF FRIENDS HE CALLS “THE BANDWAGON BOYS”. OF COURSE HE EXPECTS TO WATCH A BLOWOUT BY SAC. WE SHALL SEE. I WENT WITH HIM TO THAT GAME 30+/- YEARS AGO AND THE AGGIES ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED THE HORNETS IN THEIR HOUSE. FUNNY HOW MEMORIES STAND THE TEST OF TIME. IF THE AGGIES CAN GET TO THOMPSON A FEW TIMES IT MIGHT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE AS HE IS ADMITTEDLY A GREAT QB, BUT VERY FRAGILE AS WELL AND HE IS PLAYING WITH A BAD BACK. I AM SURE THIS HAS BEEN NOTICED BY HAWKINS.
  • Week 12: Montana State @ UC Davis
Oh what a difference a year makes in college football. Last year Plough was credited with excellent play calling; but this year not so much at all. Last year our health and conditioning team was lauded for few injuries and great conditioning. This year not so much if at all. Now, whether this is due to the coaches or the players is the big question. Last year a great 1-2 punch at RB. This yea r down to UG and a converted WR or was he a DB? WRs OL were all banged up all year long. Best LB ineligible. The very good news is that there is a 99% chance TT will get a medical redshirt this year and we will have him for 2 more years along with UG and many very good WRs. Just the opposite with Sac. This year they are us last year and we are almost as bad this year as they were last year. Yes, I respect T Taylor a lot, but Sacs turn around has much more to do with having the very good football players to put on the field of play almost every game this year.
PS: the Ags could win this game on Saturday by playing their very best game of the year. Plus, the FB Gods still owe us for that terrible call on Chris Carter’s “out of bounds catch” a few years back at Sac where even the Sac commentator agreed he was in bounds. If the right call was made we won the game.
  • MBB: Aggies (2-2) vs VMI (0-5) 9 am Sunday 11/17
Yes BGA it is very tough to be a college sports fan. One year you’re up the next you’re down as players come and go. So I try and be, lets say, philosophical about this situation. Also try and look at what other teams are doing or not doing compared to us. Hawk is classy even with a bad loss (today). Look at what happened to Stanford or UCLA this week. Blowouts. Probably one or both coaches will be fired after the season. When I really get depressed (today) I roll out that great sports movie: “Friday Night Lights.” Somewhere near the end Billie Bob Thornton says to the team: “Hey guys, its just a game. Have some fun out there”. Exactly what Sochor always taught. Hawk too. It’s just a game. (I write this to console myself, I confess).

All points made are very valid. I would add that Kenedy is so athletic that she could (with the great coaching we have) develop some of Morgans best moves. But it will take some time. So: redshirt? Also. Not to take anything away from my home town girl, Morgan, for all of her offensive skills, she was not an exceptional rebounder. I would say maybe average for her height, but not at all dominant. This is where I think the European girls may add a new dimension. The Euro league U18-20 games are hard nosed very physical encounters and are not for the faint of heart in the paint. So Svanholm, Jones and Lily should be an exciting trio to watch play even if they do not have Morgan’s offensive skill set (yet).
  • 2019 WBB @ Montana St 11/9
Any word on who redshirts? Any guesses? I guess Jen has some time to decide, but I would still bet Kenedy probably sits out this year so she can strengthen and develop into the “next Morgan”!
  • Week 11, UC Davis at PSU
Fun to speculate where we would be this year if we still had J. Kelly in our backfield. He is now the PAC 12 leading rusher for UCLA (105 yds per game) and has contributed mightily to UCLAs current win streak. I guess we should be glad we had for awhile. He was fun to watch.
  • WEEK 8: AGGIES @ THUNDERBIRDS
Plus, at least for the first half of last year we snuck up on people. Not this year. And yes Doss is a big loss to the team. Bigger than I ever thought. Sure hope we have a good recruiting year.
  • WEEK 8: AGGIES @ THUNDERBIRDS
I really dont know what “hype” means, but Hawkins was very correct giving SU a lot of respect because this will be a watershed game for the AGGIES. SU is a very solid team. We will be very lucky to pull this one off IMHO. 14 points is laughable. More like 3 at best.
  • 2019 BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
Bad Big Sky hit on the Hawk: “Bad coaching seems to follow him”. I disagree, but this is not looking too good for the Ags. Better turn this thing around NOW. I am not optimistic for this next game. But hopeful.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
I mostly agree with the 2 prior posts. Katehi was an excellent chancellor who hired good people but had a knack for making enemies who just wanted her scalp. When the Bee smelled blood it was all but over for her. Her best hire ever was Hexter. He has kept the ship righted ever since her departure and now he is sadly moving on. For May the jury is still out. He seems pretty OK so far, but he has had Hexter to keep him on point thus far. When he goes, who knows. If Hexter gets to pick his successor (which he gently hinted at in his release) we will be OK. On Galindo it seems she has a lot of political insulation, but this “minor” scuffle with the band has tarnished her a bit. She is “interim” and I dont see her in a permanent role due this whole fiasco. The students should way in on this as she is supposed to be their protector. Just IMHO.
  • Sac State football back?
Well ‘W’ me thinks you are about something here. Thats my attempt at my Irish. Aggies not so good me laddie. So sad.
  • Sac State football back?
Wow. We used to have all the “star” area college coaches/players. Now we are toast. Hawkins, Tucker and Plough (and Maier) not so hot these days. Pre-season way too much vacuous hype. Like my barista likes to say “have a great rest of your week”. UC Davis coaches really need to get a grip on this team or just admit were not very good. Like I said regression to the mean- were we never that good to begin with? I have a problem watching this team play games. Way too stressful. Unforced errors. Bad coaching?
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
I’m beginning to think this years team is regressing to the mean. In other words, we were good last year due to several aberrations or one time events (Doss, Bland, Moe White playing together well and the biggie: our opponents were underestimating us in a major way). Maybe also that our coaches were not over confident like they appear to be now. I’m not saying we are a bad team, just that last years team was apparently very good for aberrational reasons. I hope we can pull out of this skid.
  • The FCS National Outlook
Drove thru with grandkids last summer. Areas great, but I personally did not like sitting in the Macs for lunch with guy next to us carrying a big Glock 9mm hanging on his belt. People do NOT like anyone from CA.
  • Montana Game
Movie. $9-15 per hour. 1 1/2 time after 9 1/2 hour day or 56 1/2 hour week. Highest paid farm workers in the country by far. Government labor policies are driving these number s up as we speak.
  • Montana Game
After hearing Hawks speech regarding fostering Aggie ethics of hard work, humility and helping your players and mankind generally before your self, please hear this story of a recent Aggie grad who works as a viticulturist in Napa and Sonoma Counties. She’s an attractive blond gal around 23-24 and is in charge of a lot of vineyards in these parts including looking after vineyard health, irrigation picking time, and watching over the picking crews. Early this week it was 100+ and she was with her crew on the Sonoma Valley west facing slope at around 4:00pm so it was probably 110+/- up there in the full sun. She has a mule, but insists on walking with her crew up and down along the rows, making sure everyone is hydrated and taking salt pills. She is with them the ENTIRE shift! Eats with them, jokes with them, shares family stories with them etc. and speaks good Spanish when about 4:30 shouts went out that a crewman was down probably from heat exhaustion. She promptly called 911 And got him on the ambulance, rode with him to the hospital and stayed with him until he was released (most of these workers have no family in this country). Then she went back to work with the picking crew into the night. That her crews adore her is a given. That she is a young female Anglo “boss” that is considered family by her Hispanic crew is quite extraordinary. This is a story that will never get in the papers but I thought you guys would enjoy it. Hawk would be very proud indeed. By the way, the next day the vineyard owner came to the worksite and said to the crews that due to yesterday anyone can choose not to work today. Not a single member of her crews took that offer. It was 105 the next day.
  • Excellent Article About How One Word Nearly Cost UCI Coach Turner His Career
OK article, but I do not think that a coach at any level should get involved in trying to “psych” the other team out no matter what words are used. Just coach the game already! It certainly didn’t work in this game at all. I also doubt that the Eaters fans are all that pleased with Coach Turners admitted glee after the game for getting a possible new HC position at “a major program.” i really don’t see any upside for this coach after this incident. But I do not know this man so I am not qualified to judge him.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ North Dakota State
Has there ever been a statement from the AD as to why we cannot get the steam engine back? Does anyone even care anymore except for us? So many schools have potentially dangerous activities during games: artillery firing, longhorn cattle, wolves, falcons flying, alligators, vicious bulldogs and we cant have an antique steam engine that equates with our ag history? Pathetic! WHY!!!
