  • Thompson stepping down at Sac State
Most likely Thompson got a hefty raise. Also Stanford provides housing for faculty and coaches and/or a$3000 per month housing stipend. Stanford used to give the head football coach his own on campus house back in the day. My very first job: parking cars at Stanford football games. Got into 4th quarter FREE!

I find it very difficult to sign on to espn2 and I have an espn account. Won’t take my password. Have to get a special sign in code emailed to me and it rarely comes and when it does I am timed out. WTF is going on?

His dad Bo.was an absolute stud. If the son is anything close he will be the real deal.
  • Andrew Luck is Stanford’s new GM
Handle the NILs. New job nowadays.
  • Other Games, 2024
I’m no expert but I think Stanford football is very unforgiving of its coaches. So I think Troy has big issues as to his future there.
  • Rd.2 PLAYOFFS Week 15: UC Davis vs. Illinois State
The action clips on Wrighster are very good. Never saw any on Harper. Or the others. Wrighster could add a dimension that we have not seen for a long time. QB with speed and mobility.

Yes totally agree with you on that one you can’t rest on your laurels until the last play is played.
On another note someone before me wrote that the NFL teams now mostly views RBs as lost leaders due to high rate of injuries and missed time on the field. So RBs are not highly regarded or drafted. Christian McCafferty is a case study. MVP last season and now he is just recovering from his bilateral Achilles injuries and not doing well. LL is also a case study in that he is a proven RB but also a very skilled receiver. Would he be drafted as a backup RB or WR? I would think the Niners and Seahawks are watching him. Very closely. Former sac RB Skattabo close behind, but a very different player speed wise.

If memory serves, when the BB stadium was built they had the presence of mind to install conduit for future stadium lighting. But and it is a big but, this was a mostly voluntary construction project, so who knows if those conduits meet present standards and codes or can still work. If this is yes, it could save a lot of money. But my gut says no. You construction guys know this much better than I do. Thoughts?
  • Vermillion charter?
Let’s not get carried away with this. One game at a time…….
  • Awards Watch 2024
Who is lans agent going forward. I think someone posted this but I lost it.
  • Week 13: 70th Annual Causeway Classic
Heard the same stuff from my sac contacts. The kid will definitely transfer out. With all that eligibility left he would be a great catch for a lower level FBS team. $100,000 nil would seal the deal.
  • Week 13: 70th Annual Causeway Classic
Miss the game. Any way to get the replay?
  • Causeway Tailgate 2024
I don’t know about doing this tailgate in the sac parking lot. It is huge and dark. Last time I was there we had some aggressive sac guys confronting us. Bottle’s thrown (not at us but near). All in all very bad juju. Sac campus not a very cool place at night. Very different vibes there. Just be aware of where you are and keep your phone handy! 911!
  • 2024 Week 12: #2 Montana State (10-0) @ #4 UC Davis (9-1)
It will be LL and MP pounding the rock and grinding it out. If MS can stop it all power to them, but in the end I do not think they will consistently be able to do it. Especially in the third and fourth quarter. DLs just don’t have the stamina to do this.

Use Tompkins. He was an excellent punt return guy when he was given the opportunity. I think they are holding Fisher back for the future.
Certainly the season is not over, but what may not be noticed enough now is that Plough has had to work with a team that is entirely of Hawkins making. Now, he got a lot of talent of course, but the team appears to have bonded very well with him. That is worth noting IMHO. Very impressed with the very young coaching so far.
  • 2024 Week 7: Cal Poly (2-3) @ UC Davis (5-1) Homecoming + Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Having been somewhat critical of our pass defense in the past I have to remind myself that we have won all those games where we did give up lots of yardage by the pass. So why? I think we have a clear strategy of using a (not quite) prevent pass defense on almost every defensive play. Yes, this gives up plenty of yards, but it does eat up time on the clock and prevent (most) quick TDs. Anyway just IMHO for what it’s worth.
  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
Good teams win close games. Bad teams lose close games. Good things: MH getting better. LL getting better and better. TT still has that majic. Bad: pass D looked not so good. PSU was definitely up for this game. We were not. Still probably thinking of the Idaho game. FB a still is a game of 18-20 year olds playing a game. I had two. Very hard! Cudos to those who can actually coach them!
  • Car wash
    Great
Post I hate those damn water spots.
  • 2024 Week 5: Idaho (3-1) @ UC Davis (3-1)
I don’t mind the new rankings at this point in the season at all! Underdogs always perform better because they are trying to prove their a better team than the critics say. Example: Idaho game. Late season is a different story because it definitely effects the playoffs.
