  • Architect of Speed D Improves WSU over 100 spots in 3 yrs
Does this guy have an assistant we can hire? One of the reasons for this scheme is that WSU could not recruit the “normal” PAC 12 defensive player against the competition. Sound familiar? I know coach Hawk loves his DC, but look, our D was horrible this year. He has to go.
  • WBB 7 pm Monday: Aggies (3-0) @ Pacific (2-0)
And the young kids are very tough as well. Did you see when Emma Gibbs got man handled in the front court and she gave it right back. Yep, she was called for a foul, but the point is she was NOT intimidated! She going to be very good. I guess the new Canadian gal will RS. I hear she is tough as nails. Maybe the next Morgan?

Yes, best game of the year against a not so bad tiger team. Cierra and Nina are the future of this team and it showed tonight. The future is good!
  • 2017-18 WSJ college rankings out
These rankings can be easily manipulated. Take the USnews; it can take “reputation” and do pretty much anything it’s wants with that. Also, alumni “support”? What the hell does this have to do with the academics? Plus, we all know automatically it ranks all “privates” higher than the rest. But WSJ may be off as well. They don’t rank “reputation” and this is good because its so subjective, but it ranks “publications cited” or something similar and that’s where UCSD is going. It hires a prof out of Harvard with a lot of publications and magically gets credit for all his publications. Back in the day UCSD hired the “surfing Professor” who got a Nobel for some gene thing he discovered; but he was absolutely a TERRIBLE professor and the kids hated his guts. (My Nephew went there). I am sure there are teams of experts who advise on this stuff. I think we had to fire someone back in the day who just forgot to submit the right stuff to USNews. We dropped out of all the rankings that year. Not good!

It is not widely known, but the GOP tax bill will eliminate the 80% deduction for ticket purchasers. Maybe not for us, but this is a very very big deal for the major football conferences like the SEC, Big 10 etc. ironically many if not most conferences affected are in trump states.

Then we would have won!! Easy as that. And yes, we have all committed a lot of turn overs in our lives and would like to have them back. Someone a lot smarter than me once said sports are actually a very true metaphor for life. I certainly committed a lot of turnovers in mine. Sadly, no replays please.

PH makes a valid point. But, I would like to make this a test of our cognitive memory powers of the other “what ifs” of Aggie lore. Meaning old guys have to game up here! In 1988 sac had one of the most dominate RBs the Ags ever played against and with him sac won a causeway for the first time in 18 years and went to the playoffs. What was his name? What if we had stopped him? In 2009? We had a record breaking WR who, in the causeway, clearly caught a ball inbounds. All the TV replays and commentators said he caught it and called it an “NFL catch, I.e. both feet in and the refs called it out. Who was he and would we have won the game with the right call? Lastly, would we have won the 1982 championship playoff if O’Brian hadn’t gotten hurt and couldn’t play? Yes, I am an old guy but I need my cognitive therapy and this does it for me. All questions here are rhetorical only. No reply needed, but fun to have. . . .

  • MBB 6 pm PT Monday: Aggies @ Northern Colorado
I cant seem to be able to download Pluto tv. Can anyone help?
  • WBB 2 pm Sunday: Pepperdine @ the Aggies
Yep, hard to find a negative on this game. The waves are a very good basketball team. Very athletic and we will see a lot more of this in the BW. Rebounding is an issue, yes. Also hard when you are a good 3 shooting team and far outside the paint. And Some say it cannot be coached. But the Aggies have the talent to deal with this. Call in Nina and Cierra and they did the job. Wow. A soph and a freshman save the day! Congrats to Morgan Bertch!!! She a real star.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I think its just very simple: a very poor defensive team. Maybe hawk inherited this, maybe not. But I agree with the former posts, defense was not a priority with the new coaches including hawk who took the “low hanging fruit” and just went with it. My take is that this is a very long road to rebuild and I don’t even know if the AD is in for this very expensive slog given that we are so hamstrung in our recruiting efforts.
  • WBB: Washington State @ UCD
The one player that I thought was a surprise was cierra hall. Freshman and tall. She will br a reall asset. Not at all intimidated by the big foreign Wazo girls. Good win for the Aggies
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
More on Texas Aggies (I know, who cares? But I still cant believe this stuff!) Texas A&M will build a $100 million dollar hotel next to their stadium where fans can stay game day. The New wrinkle: to get a room fans must pay $100,000 for a license for life. Looks like the fans are lined up to buy. Yep, any money left over helps to fund Aggie football. WSJ 11/8/17. Well. . . We could build a really small one!
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I guess if you have a $170+ million athletic budget and a coach that makes $5 mill a year, this is predictable: Texas Aggies will fire their HC after this season if he does not win more than 8 GAMES THIS YEAR! So says Dallas Morning News today.
  • Horseshoe 2017
I watched this game and did not enjoy it. Yes we won, but how we did it was abysmal. We are a very poor football team. Yes we have some great athletes, but for the most part we are very thin in that department I.e OL, DB, DL, and RBs. I really don’t know if we have realistic expectations that we can ever recruit a sufficient number of quality players at this level to actually succeed in the FCS.
  • Horseshoe 2017
I think hawk had a nightmare. Woody Hayes came in the night: “two out of three bad things happen when you try and pass the football. . . . “ you all know the rest. Except when you don’t have anyone to run the ball or a OL that’s not there yet. I agree with the foregoing better minds. We are a work in progress
  • Greetings Aggie Fans
Happened to us for 4+ years. Not fun at all.
  • LaRue Softball upgrades begin!
Maybe I’m wrong, but no tennis courts anywhere near LaRue field; ditto no football practice facility near Dobbins. But they could be there now, haven’t been there in awhile. I would like to see pics of the LaRue upgrades.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Well it was a hard game to watch. I agree with movie that the play calling was highly suspect going from tried and true passing game to a very lame running attack. I suspect that the OC will say defensively that “you cant always throw the football, you need to mix it up.” But if you have one of the best QBs in the league passing wise and the best WR, it is a sin of neglect not to use that advantage all of the time. YES, PASS THE BALL ALL THE TIME! When you have no real running game. Playing a real game is not the time to play practice with your running backs who have not as of yet proven themselves on the field. I know that the analogy is not very exact, but Patton in WW2 always led his army with the very best units at the tip of the spear of the attack. Not some unit that “needed some work or to confuse the enemy”. He won his battles on this belief. Hawk needs to take over the offense. Enough to said.

I absolutely agree! Where is JT now? I’d love to follow his career. Great guy!
