  • LaRue Softball upgrades begin!
Looks like the gals are doing really well. I have not seen any pics of the new field. Anyone have them?

Garlic steak sandwich. . . . My mouth is watering. I buy a full, eat one for lunch and take the rest home for dinner. This is to keep my weight down! Yeh, sure. Wife not on board for this.

72 I do agree. The Berkeley athletics philanthropic base so far overpowers anything we have that is it actually somewhat humorous. I know an attorney in SF who has no ties to Berkeley and very little interest in football (he went to UCSB undergrad and Columbia’s Law school and is a “wine law expert”), yet he told me that he felt it was very advantageous for his firm to buy annual box seats for the Berkeley games for the benefit of his firm. That’s what a thousandfold dollars price tag? Maybe much more. Even my Berkeley pals will not buy these tickets because they are so over priced. I will be very surprised if any of our teams get the philanthropic support that could support rowing. Sorry, its back to beach volleyball.
  • Improving the program
Our “local media” consists of a tiny hometown newspaper that prints 5 days out of the week. The Sac Bees coverage of the Aggies is almost nonexistent; so far nothing on the championships, or our all league players, or coach of the year, etc. i do not know about the TV stations coverage since I don’t live nearby. But, Z is right the APack used to be much more active with very good leadership. Maybe thats it: no enthusiastic leader. Since we have so many woman students maybe we should focus on getting them to the games.

No the pavilion has removable decks. It hosts tons of non athletic events and conferences each year. It is the areas primier site for college basketball and other non athletic events. Hickey is a great place for MBB/WBB to practice for games away. It has lockers, showers and everything the teams need and is close to campus. We do not need to build a “practice facilty” as we already are very fortunate to have one here.
  • Men's Big West Conference Tournament March 8-10
“Skill wins games; intelligence and teamwork wins championships” (or something like that)

    Micheal Jordan

I think that is exactly what the Ags have going for them going into the tournament this week.
  • MBB 7:30 pm Saturday ESPN3: Aggies @ Irvine for the Big West Championship
I do agree with Blue. The tournament will be a real test and we are undermanned. But, this team seems different. Although we apparently we aren’t favored to win it out for that reason, i have great confidence that we can and will do it. Think of what goes thru the minds of these other teams? What the Aggies have done game after game is impressive because there is no quit in them and they have an overwhelming confidence to score. But, the real dagger these teams are looking out for is our defense which is downright scary. ESPN crew said this was the best contest they had seen all year at any conference or level. That says a lot!

just watched the replay of the game. it has to be hands down one of the best basketball games I have even seen played. This must be why some say heart and guts beat out skill when the chips are down. Irvine was bigger, faster, had more muscle, had a bigger bench and probably had more skillful players, but it did not matter against the Ags who just willed their way to win this very tough basketball game.

I had to miss this game due to a BD party i could not miss. Is there anyway to se a replay of this game? I very much agree maybe one of the greatest basketball games ever played by an Aggie team.
  • Name your favorite Sac eatery / place
I think their menu history says the original building was a UC Davis ag building. Well, at least we get some good press out of sac.

It’s not really in sac , but in west sac- Pheasant Club. Best garlic steak sandwich on the planet bar none.
  • Chima Moneke Suspended Indefinitely
I guess Steph Curry heard about Chima got bored at the hotel and busted up the glass coffee table in the hotel room. There will be no suspension.
  • Chima Moneke Suspended Indefinitely
GoAgs. That was a lot of work for a rant of pretty much total speculation and supposition. Most of what you present as a “theory”, “what I think”, or “idea” is just that. If it was, indeed. a hotel bust up, or fight then the police would have had to have been called and there would have been a report. There is none to our knowledge (a hotels insurance coverage requires it!) . If it was somewhat less (woman, booze, weed in the room) why were the roommate and other players not involved in the suspension? Go I am as flomuxed as you for what happened to Chima; and downright angry at how this has all turned out. We all feel the pain. Best to move on with the team we have now. To reinstate now would in MHO disrupt the team as it now stands- which is actually doing very well without Chima.
  • Lady Bird - Sacto & UC Davis
I did not “bristle” from the movie; I heard these negative comments all the time when i worked in sac as i have previously posted. The sac people who look down on davis must have never compared walking down K street at night (very scary indeed) to walking downtown davis at night. Davis is very bright, vibrant, airy and safe. Question: why is UC Davis so heavily woman in enrollment? Again, its a very safe place compared to elsewhere. Maybe not Norway. But pretty damn close.
  • New woman’s sport
Latest article states that one priority is that the team plays on campus or “close to campus.” I guess that rules out rowing. Strange, since Stanford’s rowing facility is miles away from campus in east paly about the same distance from davis to west sac. I guess it depends on what “close” means. So i now will be voting for woman’s rugby. We were always very good at rowing and great at woman’s rugby, so a hard choice, but not keeping AD Blue up at nights I’m sure.
  • MBB 5 pm Saturday DH: Riverside (8-19 & 3-10) @ the Aggies (18-9 & 9-4)
You have to be a little sad for the riverside players to go from so high to so low in 5 seconds! TG is just such a clutch player and he has really picked up the team since Chima has been out. Who knows, maybe we are a better team without him because they players aren’t always looking to get him the ball now. Anyway, Les is really getting things done with a minimum of players. Sign of a very good coach.
  • WBB 2:30 pm Saturday DH: Irvine (19-10 & 9-4) @ the Aggies (22-4 & 12-1) Senior Day
An absolutely great gesture to a great Canadian Aggie. But- we have another in the wings: Sage Stobbart who we will being hearing great things from in the future. Also, a bit of pride for AD Blue also of the Canadian brand. Love those girls and the guy!!!!!
