Gun, still see sage at 6’ 3” on roster. I think 1” in height can be easily made up in strength and desire and sage has all of that. I don’t know movie, its what they said, the Poly guys said, not our guys. No penalties in a rivalry game away? I have never heard of such a thing happening; but am a history freak. I get it though, no stats are ever recorded for this type of “odd” statistic. I will say it was the result of the players being very disciplined and focused. I don’t buy that they were just lucky to not get caught. IMHO just an interesting statistic.

The no penalties thing is amazing. Is it some kind of record? The poly guys were saying that wwe were paying “very clean” football,i.e. very fast, clean, efficient football. I have never seen a no penalty football game in my life!

I am frankly surprised. Not the normal HC before game speech. Not over the top. No yelling. Short. Concise. Understandable. Certainly not the Gipper speech. I definitely see the Sochor influence with Hawkins with the “have fun” reference.
Does anyone else recall the scene where its 3rd and long in a playoff game in the early ‘80s. We call time out. The game is on the line with this play. And the Coach pulls O’Brian aside and tells him to relax, look into the crowd, take a big breath, and just enjoy the moment. Us old guys know what happened next and it was good. I know Hawk wants to live up to Sochor standards. He’s doing very well now IMHO.

For me, I would hate “sky boxes” at Aggie Stadium. They just don’t fit my image of the future of Aggie sports. And “limited access party decks” at UC Davis? well thats not going to fly either. Fuga, this is not an easy job. And you’re doing great trying, but remember this is a very, very hard place to do your good stuff. But, Stay on it. We love your ideas!

Fugawe09 thanks for your significant input. Civil engineering is not often seen on this site. We are more of a yearning group- we want what we cannot have, i.e 10,000++ fans at every football game. We have non-existent funding to do this “expansion”. But I have a new plan: if we charge $1 for each toilet use ($1 for #1 and $2 for #2) and if We charge $2-4 for each breastfeeding station use (depending on number of breastfeeds), wont that cut down on usage and bring in funding? And if we go all neutral gender restrooms ($2 each use) wont that bring in more revenue? Then we get everyone coming into the game to sign waivers that they don’t need alll your dumb “fire exits” they just want to SEE THE GAME! Come on Fuga! You are ruining things for us.

Movie, the “67, 68” comment does not resonant too much for me. That’s young for me and I’m still kicking at 70+. I always felt that Ellerson was very charismatic for CP folks at least. He sure knew how to lay the wood to the Ags. As for billionaires, we have many too. Harris Ranch, Chevron, Bechtel, CEOs and many in Silicon Valley. But we also have Kimberly Guilfoyle, Don Jr’s GF, and we all know how rich he is :“HUGE” rich. I personally am not happy about Kimberly’s choice of suitors but thats just me. And, as for funding the new sports complex, I just don’t think that Don Jr. Is our go to guy. But I wish Kimberly the best of luck in her romantic endeavors which so far have been well. . . Wasteful of her talents as we Irish like to say (but, she is half Irish which does tend to put her in my good graces).

OK this is interesting but, I think we should consider stopping this thread as to football! So maybe its informational, but it is also major gloating and that is very bad JU JU for the team. Also known in my weak German as : “Schadenfrude” or English: “Glee from the suffering of others” which is very bad morally and poor conduct and which in German lore will “come back to forever haunt you”. Humm. . I think Maier is a German name. . . .

It is really sad to see the demise of the Bee a once very strong paper. Many think this is all the result of the digital age, but the Bee made a very serious mistake back in 2006 when its parent McClatchy bought Knight-Ridder newspapers, many of which KR newspapers were in poor markets and not profitable at that time and even now. That accelerated a downward spiral that has not ceased. McClatchy’s total debt as of 2016 was a enormous $872.7 million. Then in 2017 the Bee publisher, Cheryl Dell, retired. Dell was highly respected, but the guy brought in to replace her had to run 10 other McCltchy papers in 3 states along with the Bee. So this is a reason why the Bee seems to barely limp along. It simply has no funds sufficient to operate a modern newspaper.

Why does sac have so much better TV coverage than we do? Big Sky TV is a joke, no its an embarrassment as no D1 league should have this low level media support.

How does a game start at 4 pm? Were not exactly on national TV. Who decides this?

It was painful to watch the 4th quarter and it ruined my lunch. BUT (and not to try and put a silver lining to it) it showed Hawk that he needs to really start working on the 2d and 3d guys. I pity them on Monday when the coaches lay it on them and they have already gotten the scorn of the starters for messing up the game on the plane. So, the pluses are better than the minuses.

Ouch, if he was the bag carrier for the $50,000 and the FBI has him Inn their sights he’s gotta go. Big West has to step into this mess. UCSB in big time trouble.
