yes Sac Is looking good. Hard to imagine after last year when they were pretty awful. Kevin Thompson is playing well and their D is pretty stout. The Montana game (in Sac) should be interesting/telling.

Don’t care what the administrators call the band - it will always be the Cal Aggie Band to me. And at a time when Hawk is resurrecting the CA logo - they revert. It’s really pretty hilarious how the admins think a name change solves all problems.

...So close in Fargo .... that would have made a huge difference in polls. Need to win out. Weber, Montana State and Sac would all be quality wins.

South Dakota State at Youngstown State was an interesting game. Midway into 3rd quarter looked like YSU was going to win. Then SDSU did what good teams do - no panic and great defense. 3 interceptions and then started to wear down YSUs d-line with their big defensive line. SDSU won going away. I don’t think Gibbs is as good as Christien, but he is solid. SDSU plays NDSU in Brookings in 2 weeks. Should be interesting. YSU announcers think YSU will be in playoffs and maybe they will, but they did lose to UNI (who were stomped by NDSU) the game before this one and other than the last 2 games YSU hadn’t really played anybody. They have remaining games with NDSU, South Dakota and Illinois state. My gut feeling is that besides NDSU and SDSU, UNI and South Dakota will make playoffs from MVFC and YSU will fade out.

Babb made some amazing moves. Fun game to watch but I am sure a bit nerve wracking early 4th quarter (I was not watching live then). Eaton has a real motor.

Announcers for 11sports were awful. Wrong names, wrong teams, wrong score differentials - guess that’s why they are where they are but there must be some good young guys out there wanting a chance. It shouldn’t be a career job with that outfit. Sort of the same feeling as when you get on a commuter plane and the pilot is 55 or 60 - you want to ask “haven’t you graduated from these things yet?”

Saw first scores but missed Poly comeback due to date with Rachmaninoff ams symphony. Sounds like Ags took foot off the pedal a bit after getting the big lead? Running game was way better and hard to tell if it was Ags or playing Poly. It looked so easy that first quarter.

Looks like Thomas still out and Crawford out too. My guess is that Poly keyed on Preece. No receptions is odd. Maybe different formations using the other 2 or 3 tight ends.

MSU has trouble at QB. They don’t know who to play. Half the time reverting to Anderson, who is a heck of an athlete but not a qb. Difference in QB play in the game was dramatic.

Game over. MSU unable to stop sac.
  • FCS Games to Follow: Week 7
Sac kicking AWFUL! Boing off uprights on extra point. They won’t need field goals or even extra points at this rate.
  • FCS Games to Follow: Week 7
MSU cant stop Sac. Trouble is Sac is converting on 3rd downs (and 4th downs). Too many downs to hold them.
  • 2019 BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
Well I don’t expect a 42 point drubbing like last year. Depends on the consistency (or lack thereof) of Ags. At this point, any win is a win.

MSU scores on 4th down. Anderson. They knew FGs won’t win this one.

21-7 Sac. I think this game is over.

    Sac about to score again.

kennesaw state also has a VERY patsy schedule. Both they and Jacksonville State have been getting in playoffs perennially due to being in extremely weak conferences.

MSU there ball up for INT inside Sac 20 on first drive. I think Sac is going to win this game.

NDSU pulling away. 32-14. Early 4th quarter.
  • FCS Games to Follow: Week 7
UND self-destructed on an early 2nd quarter drive. 4 penalties plus a fumbled snap when Ketteringham wasn’t ready for snap. They were inside ISU 20 when the comedy of errors commenced. Ketteringham did not show much poise. Reminded me of last week when he was jawing with his own fans after he retreated near his end zone on a pass rush.

UNI Scores to close to 18-14. UNI not able to run much but have some big receivers getting back shoulder and improvised throws. 2:35 to go first half. Snow on the ground outside Fargo dome.

goes to show you how important is is to have consistent good seasons so you have to fall rather than beat your way up the rankings. I think too much is placed on previous season and reputation but eventually you have to have a decent record. Some teams like Jacksonville State have a patsy schedule so I do think some weight should be applied to strength of schedule.
