Jacksonville, a 3-8 team is giving SAn Diego a game 30-28,USD. San Diego can’t contain Jacksonville’s running QB.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
whatever they call them it is still the Cal Aggie Band-uh to me. Regarding administrators-it is genuflecting to PC gods as with most Universities these days. “Safe places” over competency.
  • CAUSEWAY 2019
I think Mo started 2 years. Jim Speck started in 76. Mo started in 77 and 78. Pretty sure about that as I was at UCD then.
  • Mike Moroski Leads College of Idaho to 1st Championship Since 1955
Howard, I was on the baseball team with those guys. Brown and Moroski were excellent pitchers. I rode the bench mostly. When it rained we played basketball - lot of good hoopsters. Kevin Hildebrand asked me how I could be so graceful on the basketball court and not so much on the mound (ouch).

funny how perspective is. After the NDSU game their fans were all over their coaches saying how much they got out-coached by UC Davis. Just think what Poly has to deal with with Tim Walsh - guess he is untouchable.

So was Plough terrible last year too? I think it is too simple to blame the coaches. What was “interesting” this year is that there were visions of last year with marching down the field effortlessly with tempo, but just too many instances of not. Deep balls were not as plentiful, but I think pass protection (and opposition this year) had a part to play. Also the merry-go-round of receivers due to injuries. Last year Meier had an amazing relationShip with Doss and relied heavily on him. This year it was Crawford initially then he got injured at UND. I believe if Crawford has not been injured the Ags would have won that game.

So maybe coaching adjustments were lacking this year. Thomas out virtually all year hurt too. For all of the static about Maier-he is going to be very hard to replace.

EWU takes no time to score so time of possession is not very relevant. I was expecting Eastern to score more so I would say Poly’s defense was maybe a bit more effective than in other games.

South Dakota State? Agreed - Need to set reasonable goals given the region. Games I have watched last couple of years showed poorly attended Cal and Stanford games. I think a section or 2 of Aggie Pack is reasonable. Don’t know if this generation ever peels attention away from phones these days.

Near Schadenfruede alert. Cal Poly misses 35 yard field goal with 1:00 left and lose 42-41. Eastern’s defense is horrible. No way they deserve to get in playoffs even if they beat Portland State.

you are limited at Davis with student excitement - it is a cultural thing. Poly attendance has been bad this year (although team has been bad for years now) and when I watch Sac games on tv it seems the stands are empty on visitor side. The Montana Schools have a long standing good fan base. I think Californians by-in-large may be too culturally sophisticate to be big college football fans.
  • Week 12: Montana State @ UC Davis
Eastern Washington has had a somewhat similar season. If they had a defense as good as Weber, sac,Montana, or Montana State they would be in first place. They are struggling to beat Poly. 42-35 in 4th.
  • Week 12: Montana State @ UC Davis
the Aggies could not get over the hump with any of the good teams they have played this year, so they really haven’t deserved an opportunity to be in the playoffs. Didn’t put away Poly or SUU either. No doubt a much tougher schedule this year but just lacking this year.
  • Week 12: Montana State @ UC Davis
Funny that the Big Sky is thought of as a high scoring offensive conference. Weber, Montana, Sac, and Montana State have clearly the best defenses in the league and not surprisingly are at the top this year. Weber, Montana and Montana State all out-physicaled the Aggies. I think to be consistently at the top, they are going to have to get more physical on both sides of the ball and decrease points scored against them.

you are correct as far as students go.
  • Week 12: Montana State @ UC Davis
Blocking and tackling have been better done by MSU. Fundamentals.
