2nd string qb looked bad. Could run a bit but passes not close.

can we get BACK to football on the football forum?
Well the short answer is yes - but to many of us it is like a death in the Aggie family. Historically the band-uh has been the main (and sometimes only) cheering section and source of Aggie spirit. That is why were were front and center at Toomey field back in FWC days. Some of us on this board are band-uh alums and speaking for myself, the band-uh is the only reason I am such a big follower of the football team. I think given the context of this game, being the first home game with students back, it is only natural to wonder about the band status.
Hopefully an explanation and not a sermon. I'll shut up and get back to football. Go Ags - beat Montana! (can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching the Aggies shellack them last year in Missoula).

my wife met the Bison punters brother down at the hotel pool and hot tub (I decided to watch Georgia - Notre Dame so was not there). She said the brother said that the punter had a hamstring issue. In any event seeing Whelan punt in a dome is a real treat. He can flat out jack them. A beauty to behold his boomers live. I think the problem on the big return of his first punt was that he simply out-kicked the coverage.

yes. Lighter blue and with male symbol on back. Was co-ed when I was there but symbol left over from earlier I think and they were likely finishing off lots. . I could have done double duty and also ticked off title IX coordinator.

left guard was jake Parks (60) at least from what I could see. May have moved folks around after Pettit injury.

I though D played great today. Gave the offense all the chances they could ask for. There were some very nervous Bison fans. Got to give credit to the critical defensive plays NDSU made. I know some will criticize Maier, but with noise and all- thought he had a good game. Still don’t know what the called back touchdown was about. That and the 2 4th quarter picks determined the game. Fans were very nice and complimentary of the team.

Debated about bringing my “hell yes” shirt to Fargo and looking for UCD administrators/lawyers and strutting by them. Left it home. This endowment thing is an extra point I did not know about.

Just met Jake Parks parents at breakfast in our hotel. Nice folks. A bunch of Bizon fans at the motel.

good thing dome for tomorrow. Just got into Fargo and very windy. Rain forecast tonight and into tomorrow.

Line is Bison-25. I think I would take that and the Ags. NDSU beat UND by 21 with A second string QB for UND. Beat Delaware by 25. I don’t see either of those teams as being as capable as UCD. A lot of uncertainty in lines of course.

By the way central Minnesota is really beautiful this time of year. Lakes and woods and ag. fields. Hardwoods starting to turn colors. Roll into Fargo tomorrow. Anyone know what hotel the team is staying at?

After reading about the Syracuse's head coach using a chess philosophy (move fast and hope for subsequent 2 moves if opponent can't keep up) in football, i.e., more plays leads to more opportunities to score leads to better win opportunity, I thought I'd work up some stats from NDSUs 2018 season and 3 games to date in 2019 with a loss from 2017 thrown in. That doesn't seem to hold with NDSU. See attached. Retirement has its benefits.

Last time these 2 teams met in Fargo in 2005 the Ags won. Pretty good year- Stanford and NDSU. Bison had 5 yards rushing that day - don’t think that will matched Saturday, but the Aggie D is going to have to step up.

time for the band to break out the Shostakovich (under Soviet times) - “we will rejoice-we will rejoice!”

I senses at least watching the Lehigh game that the Aggie D woke up. They will need to a play with a very high intensity in Fargo and win turnover battle. I watched the Delaware game. No protection for the Delaware starting QB who was also slow afoot and frankly I don’t think a very good QB (stared down receivers). Delaware went to a mobile QB in second half with much more success (nil in first half). The Aggie O-lime will need to protect Maier. I think they actually did pretty good at that in Cal game. A viable running game will help too. I do think the Ags are clearly the best team NDSU will have faced this tear - but to date they have not been challenged.

Ags were gashing USD with run game initially but run game has not been consistent. Gilliam seemed to be a bit reserved against Lehigh. He had been taking pretty much the full load till then.

A lot of receivers saw action in the Lehigh game, including Babb and Blake Thorpe. One thing has has become evident - Crawford is a go to guy because 1. He gets open 2. He does not drop the ball.
