  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
ISU has had injuries at quarterback and running back. Their offense has not been consistent (or very good at all) this year. In their best game (against sac state with 21 points) they only had 280 yards).

Some “investigative reporting” into said “small pants”

Of course it could be like the short satin basketball pants we rocked in the 70’s.
  • How do we beat EWU, JMU, NDSU
….and then there is Carson Crawford - does he even have 1 incomplete pass? High School quarterback, throws a beautiful and accurate ball, and is fast……ok, maybe not a human highlight reel like TT, and he is only 5’10”. I think the reason that TT can throw without the laces Is partly due to wearing gloves that provide a better grip. The one thing he hasn’t done yet is mid- to deep throws. I think if I were a coach and the Ags had a comfortable lead, I would put him in for those kind of reps.

Holt arena is a Quonset-hut type indoor stadium. So only mud would be mud-slinging talk.
  • How do we beat EWU, JMU, NDSU
I was at the NDSU game. Devon King jumped a route and had a sure pick 6 late in the game. Something he would have done 9 times out of 10. The Ags had more total offense (>400 yards) than the Bizzzzon. But alas, it’s the final score that counts. Many folks told me “you guys have a real good team” …. I think they were a bit surprised.

Peter principle in action. Maybe he should hire someone who does better prep. After 4 games one should know the players numbers by heart (or at least by recognition) and their year and where they are from.

Who was the KDVS student announcer for the Stanford game in 2005? The guy was good (and funny). Once when Ostrander was sacked - or something similar - he quipped “he folded like a cheap suit”.

yes. Mechanics of fast forward would depend on your streaming device and remote. Sometimes it’s a bit of a pain.

    “The young lady in question…..”
I had a female graduate student come to my office and essentially accuse all male faculty members in our department of inappropriate behavior of some type. She gave no specific details or names attached to details. I told her that she may be more comfortable with a female major professor….after listening to her litany of complaints all with no details or evidence. She was subsequently bandied about (including by female faculty members) due to her lack of progress. Later after I stepped down from my administrative role I heard her In the hallways one morning dropping f-bombs like nobody’s business (which ironically in todays environment could be considered harassment of another student was offended). I think she had some mental problems but I am not an expert - she came across as someone with an axe to grind blaming others for her own academic failures.

Bottom line - my eyes were opened to open-ended and baseless accusations that can arise in university settings. Not saying there are not valid cases.

Ditto. I have used TuneIn for radio feeds on KHTK.

LOL. It’s not my gut ….the legs have absolutely gone. My mind ……well I often find myself in a room thinking to myself “why am I in here and what was I looking for”
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
I like his calls of the game. He just sounds a bit more professional and has good voice quality.

Video with history of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Stockton. I watched a number of games there - including UOP vs San Jose State (with Steve DeBerg at QB), Santa Clara with Dan Pastorini, University of Idaho, Long Beach State and maybe Fullerton State of the defunct PCAA. Also the big 1978 game in which the Ags won 31-14 and as I recall UOP lost to Cal that year 28-14.

I played high school basketball and baseball with the guy at the beginning of the video. Time has put a few inches around the belt on him. Of course I used to be able to dunk and now you’d be lucky to slip 2 sheets of 20 lb. bond paper under my shoes when I jump.

  • Big Sky and Other FCS Games Week 5
UNI has replaced Will McElvaim with Theo Day at QB. They did that in the Sac State game and that is when they pulled away. Day is a much better passer (and a big dude). I think UNI is going to make some noise in the MVFC.
  • Big Sky and Other FCS Games Week 5
Definitely best games were EWU-Montana and SFA and Sam Houston.

EWU had nearly 200 more yards in offense than Montana, but the kick off return for a TD kept Montana in the game late. Montana frustrated Barriere for a good portion of the game, keeping him in the pocket and pressuring him with just 3 down lineman, but later I think Barriere realized he would be more effective outside the pocket giving him more of an option to run (and he passed for over 400 yards). EWU played good defense for them. Kind of interesting that Montana held Washington to 7 and EWU posted 34. Humphries really forced things in the fourth quarter. I think if Montana had a better QB than Humphries, they would have won.
  • FCS/1-AA over FBS/1-A games
all 3 UCD victories over UOP (first in 1978 with Moroski at the helm passing for over 300 yards and a 31-14 win) were D2 vs D1.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
yah, buzzard was much better. And yes Saturdays calling was a comedy of errors.
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
You have got to be kidding. Went to bed thinking there is no way the Ags were going to win, then the magic started. Just finished watching it. Give credit to the coaches for shaking things up both offensively and defensively. Blitzing and pressure really befuddled Beaudry and then magic was magic. Blocked kick, interception, and tipped pass that was completed - some things have to go your way in special seasons.

Bottom line on my mind is that these days you really need a mobile qb to give yourself the best chance to win. The first TD with TT was set up by a packed box thinking that it would be a sure run. O’Keefe and Harrell were having a picnic in the end zone.
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
Well it’s late back here. Going to bed. Hope the Ags right the ship.
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
Just like the first half of last game - looks like the other team wants it more.
