  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
This is way too easy. But I like it.

I agree. Just an ironic philosophical thought. Defense looking tough again.

Could the Aggies have 600 yards of offense and lose?
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
1 first down and 10 points for poly.

Trying to give the game away. Stared down the receiver. Crawford normally grabs anything near him.
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
    That was too easy.

Good defense to hold them to 3

Ok. Fair catch the kick and take it on the 25.

Take the ball on the 25.

    Let’s make it 4 in a row.

UNI last to Southern Illinois by 1 point so now has 2 losses. UNI has been lackluster offensively. Illinois State has no wins but a strong defense. They simply have no passing attack. Youngstown is another with an even worse (non-existent) passing attack. Seems like “the Valley” has a lot of Woody Hayes philosophy (“there are 3 things that can happen when you pass, and 2 of them are bad”).

I also think Southern Utah is definitely better than their record, despite that 12 yard punt. LOL. two of the worst pints in history .... one by each team. I think in part due to rugby style ....... let’s see, run, drop ball, kick while everything in motion, and ..... oh, I forgot to stop chewing gum...... the wheels are coming off!
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
Mew Hampshire is 0-1 and had 186 (yes Virginia ...186 yards) of total offense while the Ags lose a close one on the road to the number 2 ranked team. These polls are not worth the paper they are written on.

While UNI has a very solid defense, there offense is very questionable and they have 2 losses and still are in the top 10. There is a very considerable MVC bias, and name recognition bias vs. on-field performance.
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
    Rodriguez rushed 18 times
    We lost 38 yds rushing

The Aggies had 192 net rushing yards, 70 more than Weber, so you must have parsed out just losses.

Weber had 49 points and 638 yards of offense the prior week against Idaho State. (although Idaho State D is not good.)I think Weber was a bit cocky and not ready for the improved aggie defense. I think their yardage total was only 247 against UCD. The interview with Hill featured numerous mentions of how many games they were going to play this calendar year with the not too veiled assumption of going to finals on both spring and fall.

I would hope there would be consideration for a close away game loss to a number 2 ranked team in the rankings. There was a lot of bias in the early polls, including Illinois States ranking ahead of Davis at 0-2 (they are now 0-3) when Davis was 1-0 and a win of a 19th ranked squad.
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
The Mormon missionary redshirt program. It is an advantage for physical maturity.

I was impressed by the UCD defense. I can’t remember the last time we held 2 consecutive teams to less than 20 points. If the offense can gel further, I think the Ags will be a real team to reckon with- and I attribute much of that to a defense that is by most measures considerably improved.

Idaho State helpless in trying to stop barriere
  • Big Sky Scores
barrier yes. Without him they would be hurting. I just don’t think EWU is the team they were a couple of weeks ago. Barrier can be a magician, but he can’t do everything.

The isu-EWU game is classic big sky. All offense and no defense.

Of course eastern Washington defense is a bit suspect too. Idaho State has 42 mid 4th quarter.

I watched a bit. Poly defense was stinking up the joint in first half. Of course their defense has not been good the past couple years. Didn’t see second half.
