Reminds me of Wake Forest. Looks weird but I guess offense is looking to get defense to commit one way or another. Seems like some sort of defensive penetration would mess it up - I’m sure DCs have tried different approaches. The 'mesh' offense they run is unique at most levels of football.
To be honest, I don't think he sticks around Davis after this year. No inside info, but I can see him transferring to a bigger program in a couple weeks. I think the QB helm goes to Eason next year.
Agreed. If you look at Montana State (although acknowledging they are more run heavy) last year they had Scottre Humphrey, Julius Davis, and Adam Jones. Davis was out much of the year with injuries, and when Humphrey hit the portal to New Mexico, this year they still had Davis and Jones. Relying on one solid running back is fraught with potential problems in my mind as that is an injury prone or over-workload prone position.Rotating running backs isn’t the same negative impact as rotating QBs, and its a position where players get hit every carry, run routes and block, so more likely to need a breather.
Thanks MTB. Just got a couple (one for Bay Area brother) and will be flying out. Haven’t been to an Aggie home game since Toomey Field days. Good chance to see the new home. Hope the weather doesn’t go south for the gameLink is up to purchase tickets.
