  • Athlon Preseason Top 25

I honestly think they'll put us at No. 1 in the media, and No. 2 in the Coaches. Until EWU is knocked off, they're up there in the Eagle's Nest.

I might consider Cheney in September or early October.
  • Tailgate/season pass renewal

That would imply I stopped lifting at some point!

    Defense will tell the tale.

    (10–3, 7–1 Big Sky)

The Aggies so enjoyed their first appearance in the FCS playoffs last season that they’re eyeing a run even further than the quarterfinals. Senior quarterback Jake Maier, the 2018 Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year who passed for 3,931 yards and 34 touchdowns, is surrounded by a wealth of offensive talent, including running backs Ulonzo Gilliam and Tehran Thomas, wide receiver Jared Harrell, tight end Wesley Preece and four returning starters on the offensive line. Eddie Robinson Award-winning coach Dan Hawkins must restock a defense that features sophomore linebacker Montell Bland.

Montana State is moving Andersen back to linebacker, what a trip.

While EWU has managed to keep UC Davis, Montana State and Weber State off their schedule, they've also got games @ Washington and @ Jacksonville State (a preseason Top 10 team). So the road through the Big Sky looks "easy", but the out of conference play for the Eagles, aside from Lindenwood, is going to be tough. Two trips to California, @ Sac State and @ Cal Poly.
  • Tailgate/season pass renewal
I don't have any paperwork showing the actual plan, but it looks like they're shutting down the shoulder and lane 2 on La Rue headed South (East side of the stadium) and letting people park directly on the closed off street. That was the section Alum and I got into. Now I know the south parking lot is of course going to be open still, and the Rec Pool Lot...but what I described is the "new" area.

Beating Kal would be the equivalent of beating the Russians to the Moon for me. Guess I'll have to go.
  • Tailgate/season pass renewal
Well, by now the notice about the new tailgating arrangements should be out to everybody.

Alum and I are set on center stage on La Rue, hope y'all get a good spot. See you out there.

    Can he catch/play football?

Survey showed up today, my guess is they're taking full advantage of the summer window and will begin grading and making a mess come the second week of June.

  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch

I believe final rosters are decided the Th/F, last week of August. Around 8/29 - 8/30

Below, at only 0:24, the press ask Gruden early about Keelan.

Gruden: Yeah, we coached Doss in the Senior Bowl...and really liked him. I think he's SMART. He's athletic, and he's got size...and I think he's going to be able to compete on special teams as well...plus he's from Alameda so we had to get Doss...but, uh, he's doing extremely well, I think Edgar Bennett our receiver coach will tell you the same thing, he's going to get a great opportunity to take advantage of all these reps prior to the regular season.

Looks like Bothman got it. A fence around the site is all there us thus far. They put that up about 10 days ago.

Randy Wright finished 20-25 in his 4-year starting career and was 4-0 against Sac State, and there were some tight Causeway games in that stretch.

Best Performances: 2010 @ Cal Poly, and the Pocatello Shootout in 2012, won 52-45.

Not holding my breath on Masui, but he'd get every opportunity to shine here in Davis. Would be a Big Sky standout if he continues to work...with strong prospects for the next level. The NFL loves Sacks...

Don't see LL as a kid who's going to handle the passing necessary for this offense, however, Maier is a different kind of QB - certainly adapting the system for a more run-centric QB is a possibility. Regardless, having LL in the slot, running motion or in the backfield could be a huge weapon...and, good for him, he'll be at a World Class University studying his butt off and learning something besides football as well!

Larison's brother played under Moroski at the upstart College of Idaho program...certainly stronger Aggie ties couldn't be present up in the Gem State! So glad we don't have to play against him as a Vandal. #AggieUp #Shredville

  • Life without Keelan Doss
I will say, with our system, the TE/WR depth, Thomas and Gilliam, young OL and with Maier back for year 3, I'm not worried as much about our offensive output.

Losing Moe, Olave, V. White, Cloud, Parenteau is going to be the biggest gap. I know CB King looks like a stud, but who's getting to the passer? We played a lot of guys last year which is great, the heavy rotation should really pay dividends in 2019...however, we have to get the returners to step it up. Looking even further ahead to 2020, we look very strong, but Jake will have graduated, so the QB situation will be red hot.
