  • Montana Game
Folks way out in Bangor, Maine weighing in on the game. Does IT seem like Montana is coming to town in search of NEEDFUL THINGS? Does Hauck now have INSOMNIA after all he has been through leaving SALEM'S LOT in Las Vegas to reunite with an overhauled Montana program in DESPERATION to find THE SHINING once again...?

I hope the Ags bring Montana MISERY tomorrow...

Top FCS team in Texas right now? Sam Houston State?

This is a rational set of replies only in sports fandom.

My superstition is to never wear colors of the opposing team anywhere on my body...unless of course we share colors like Montana State. No Choice, but occasionally we'll wear something weird like the Grays.

Really interested to see how Weber handles Northern Iowa...

UNI narrowly lost to Iowa State, they pounded Southern Utah then survived a defensive battle with Idaho State at home. After Weber they face Youngstown at home then they're at the Fargodome.

    Rough Waters.

At 1 pm, there is almost nowhere to hide, you'll have better luck under the scoreboard on the grass (it will be full of people in the shade) and on the West side of the stadium (the pressbox side)

It is going to be hot, bring your sun hats, take in water and sports drinks. Update: Forecast is for the 70's now, ok, so not quite a burner but tons of sun.

Hey, I'm just a reporter man - and nothing gets the emotions high like stirring up the pot ;)

Also, last year in Missoula, the Aggies were down what 24-3 or something at half time? Felt like we didn't belong, and then the second half changed perspective on everything within the program. Now, we're expecting to beat Montana, when last year it seemed like an uphill climb. Let's not forget the level of competitor that's coming in on Saturday. Everything to prove with revenge in their hearts. We're getting a best shot on Saturday, and if the Aggies are for real, they can't let down after last week...even with the injuries.

At Memorial Union - nice turnout, right in front of where all the student groups recruit during the first couple weeks of fall quarter.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
I was walking around campus today during my lunch, saw Hawk at the Coaches Show, and I also saw a lady instructing another lady on how to march...which she was humming cadence, I think we're back on for Montana.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ North Dakota State

Maier almost made the play, nice little floater ball, the NDSU defensive line was all over the backfield, in his face, and surrounding the general area.

The call was Tehran was beyond the line of scrimmage when he caught the ball (about a half yard). With all the extra linemen upfield (beyond the line of scrimmage) already it isn't a legal screen pass.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ineligible_receiver_downfield

In gridiron football, an ineligible receiver downfield, or an ineligible man downfield, is a penalty called against the offensive team when a forward pass is thrown while a player who is ineligible to receive a pass is beyond the line of scrimmage without blocking an opponent at the time of the pass. A player is determined ineligible based on his position at the time of the snap. When the ball is snapped, the offense is required to have no more than eleven players on the field, out of whom only six are eligible. On most plays, the eligible receivers include the quarterback, running backs, fullbacks, tight ends, and wide receivers, while the ineligible receivers are offensive linemen, including the center, offensive guards, and offensive tackles.

The rule varies across different leagues. In college football, the NCAA allows ineligible receivers to be a maximum of 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage before the pass is thrown. The penalty in both the NFL and NCAA is 5 yards.
The NCAA allows for an exception on screen plays, where the ineligible player is allowed to cross the line of scrimmage to go out and block when the ball is caught behind the line of scrimmage.
