  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Doss playing solid tonight vs. the Seahawks in preseason game 1. Looking like a possession receiver.

I also see former NAU standout QB Case Cookus is QB4 for the Raiders this preseason.

Big money programs will never give credit to anyone other than themselves...
In my experience, this is how Nike operates.

The Battered Bastards of Baseball is a great documentary.
It reminds me of the old Portland i grew up with, and my folks grew up with in the late 70's and 80's. A lot has changed there now with Portland's institutions, though much of the people haven't.

For the record folks, we allow free speech and open discussion on this site. Just keep it civil and be an adult. Please don't let political propaganda, or the tribal effect erase your good sense. We're all Aggies here (well, most of us) and just want to get at the issue of what's going on with the Baseball program, and what's the next step to remedy that issue.

  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
From Yesterday, Tulsa fall practice is back open... in the heat. RS Junior QB Davis Brin takes over for the Golden Hurricanes. Found it funny that the location reporter's name was Dan Hawk.

  • Football Schedule Game Times Announced
Schedules updated. Trying to get to that San Diego game, game time would be nice! Are they going to shut it down?
  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
Yeah, I believe LB Zaven Collins was selected 16th Overall last spring by the Arizona Cardinals.

However, he was arrested recently for excessive speeding in June. Link

Tulsa's Fall 2020 COVID Schedule played out like this:
Tulsa @ Oklahoma State. Cowboys won 16-7
Tulsa @ Central Florida. Tulsa won 34-26
Tulsa @ South Florida. Tulsa won 42-13
East Carolina @ Tulsa. Tulsa won 34-30
SMU @ Tulsa. Tulsa won 28-24
Tulane @ Tulsa. Tulsa won 30-24
Tulsa @ Navy. Tulsa won 19-6
Tulsa @ Cincinnati. Bearcats won 27-24
Tulsa vs. Mississippi State in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, TX. Bulldogs won 28-26.

Common theme last fall --- it looks like Tulsa has played a lot of close games, and managed to win most of them, and the funky nature of the schedule had them playing most of those games on the road.

    Fans might remember this debacle:

I want to badly, but on a Thursday, it makes it tough. Let me work on something.

...or Irish. My nephew's name is actually Finnegan, which covers my brother-in-law's side, everybody calls him "Finn" so it's sort of balanced.

I'd believe it. My great grandparents were 1st generation Finnish-Americans, after Ellis Island, they went west, they tried Michigan and didn't like it (said the people were too dry and quiet...THESE ARE FINNS SAYING THIS) and ended up settling in Naselle, Washington. They flourished in the logging and marine industries of SW Washington. My great uncle Oscar actually had patents for choking various tree species, as well as engines and marine propulsion. His death in Seattle was a bit of a family legend, we all believed he was moonlighting with a dental assistant and his heart gave out from the effort.

I do suspect that my great grandparents weren't much for copper mining, and didn't like the extreme cold. Most of the Finns went to the upper peninsula in Michigan...maybe the cold made them dull, ha ha Funny thing was, those lessons from Michigan must have sunk in, because the whole Naselle, SW Washington area became the biggest copper production center in the world...made more money than the entire California Gold Rush.

    ...and they're off and running!

Things are going to get interesting, and I'd give it 5-10 years, before the next Pony Excess bomb drops with some overzealous program pushing through the limits going at light speed.

I guess I'm alone in wrinkling my nose about a Davis man putting on green...

You are definitely not alone in that sentiment. Though, with these modern kids, the bad blood isn't as bad as it used to be...my take. I think it was right around maybe 2012 that things started to change? Remember some heated moments in the stands in '08 and '09

  • Anybody (else) traveling for Tulsa?
It's a 4-1/2 hr drive to Tulsa from Dallas, and a 1-1/2 hr drive from Oklahoma City to Tulsa.

...and as smarterray said, Southwest looks to have very cheap flights from Oakland with single connectors Wednesday night. Approx. 5.5 hour travel time to Tulsa (from Oakland and Sac), going for Wanna Get Away Costs looks like abou $315 round trip depending on when you leave and return.

Would recommend taking W, Th and F off to anybody working, shortest flights out of CA are in the morning on Wednesday (as of right now).

I'll raise my hand. CP said no, UC Davis said yes for me.

Regarding Kelley, I do not know what kind of a student he was, but Ron Gould was HC at the time and had 3, maybe 4, former disciples playing RB in the NFL at the time. The Aggies ran a run-first, pro-style offense, so if I were Kelley I think it'd be more translatable to the next level, assuming he was thinking along those lines with his kind of talent. He ended up at UCLA anyway, so it didn't seem to matter in the end. He looked different on the field in Davis, even as a, what, freshman? He was clearly an elite player at the FCS level.
