This is great, and this is how you build relationships, get people to come after work or at lunch locally, and just talk ball with the current head coach.
In 2021 Rodgers was 2nd Team All Big-Sky, Whelan was also 2nd Team All Big Sky with 55 punts for 2544 yards and a 42.5 Net yardage per punt (minus the return). For anybody curious, Montana had the best Net yardage per punt in the conference, though Whelan edged out the Montana punter Brian Buschini in average yards per boot with 46.3 to Buschini's 45.7. Buschini also punted the ball 15 more times than Whelan, and played one extra game after Montana was ousted in the 2nd round of the FCS Playoffs.
I am in total agreement about the website. It's front page is a collage of useless, information-less, non-coverage of UC Davis sports...almost like a student with a massive social media fetish is simply pulling the strings. Horrible, hate the athletics website right now, everything remotely interesting is buried.
It took Plough 2 or 3 years to finally hit his stride with the calls, aggression comes with experience, and the Aggies need to strike in 2022. It'd be nice to infuse the program with a little more top end speed.
Currently, Aggie Baseball is sitting 1-15. Aggies played UC Riverside pretty tough down south recently, but they aren't generating much offense at all.
As for Aggie Spring Football, yeah, starts Monday. Spring Game is???
Guy looks like a total lifer. He chose to come back to California and get out of Pullman (or was he let go?) which is understandable. Pullman's a great college town, a little isolated.
He obviously has heavy roots in San Francisco, and he should be dynamite at recruiting the Bay Area.
It has always been a problem in Seattle, ever since Okung left, it's been a merry-go-round of draft picks and misses...which, in part, is kind of due to Wilson's massive contract he landed some years ago, but still. No competency in that front office drafting pass protectors...they're hell at developing wideouts, linebackers, running backs and defensive linemen though.
