  • Week 4: UC Davis @ North Dakota State

Looks like they removed the one comment about the Band-uh.

Let's go Aggies! Ags by 14. I don't care that my predictions are inaccurate or aren't based on reality.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
Just got an alert on my phone that says the Band-uh Facebook page has been renamed from "Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh" to the "UC Davis Marching Band." And so begins the cleansing process...
  • Week 3: Lehigh @ UC Davis

The Athletics Department posted a video of the football team singing "Aggie Fight" in the locker room. Really, they should be singing "Hail to California" with the Band-uh on the field. Sad.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
(I'll try to keep it civil though).
  • Petition: Allow the UC Davis Marching Band to perform without a faculty director.

I signed up and chipped in. It's embarrassing to have such a great college football team with no college marching band to support it.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
I’ve started commenting on all Facebook posts by the Athletics Department telling them to bring back Band-uh because it negatively impacts the team and the alumni who pay to go to the games. If you see me, pile it on!

Maybe also the fact that the Jacksonville QB, Nick Foles, got injured in Game 1 had some effect on Doss' decision-making. It would be hard for him to pick up where left off, stats-wise, and make a name for himself, playing with the backup QB.

Of course, $300,000 probably played an even bigger part in the final decision, or at least made the whole thing a lot easier.

Anyway, those are just assumptions. This is actually the better situation for KD again--good for him that people see his value!

Great write-up. Can you send this in to the Enterprise?
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ San Diego
Field goals aren't what's gonna win this game...
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ San Diego

I don't get it. The passing game got you to the red zone. Then you drop it altogether.
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ San Diego

Yes, please! I'm stuck at a conference and found the only seat with lousy reception so I can't even stream the game.
  • Young Defensive Players Emerge
Devon King and I share the same alma mater, De Anza High School, in Richmond. Not well known for a lot, except for it's in Richmond. According to his bio, in high school he was honor roll at the same time as being a letter winner. You can see he uses both smarts and athletic talents when he plays on the field. That's the Aggie Way. Very proud of him and glad he can represent my hometown and now my undergrad as well.
  • Aggies vs Bears

Our group made sure to mildly irritate everyone around us with just facts:

"I can't believe you guys are paying us $400,000 for this!"

"You're tied with a team that plays in a very nice high school stadium!"

(to a guy wearing Oregon hat) "Oregon's program was built by a UC Davis alum!"

(Darude's "Sandstorm" being played for the millionth time, on 3rd down) "I'm glad you guys are trying to keep the fan experience relevant by playing music that was popular when I was in college, 15 years ago!"

(after another bad pass / mistimed route by Cal) "Come on, Cal! COMMUNICATE! Isn't that your major?!"

"That interception was by a guy who grew up in Richmond, California, and was admitted to UC Davis under the same admission standards as any other UC applicant, unlike your team's players, who are granted admission under lowered standards!"

"Have fun next week against Washington."

Yeah, big time mistake. It’s nice they gave him a shot, but it’s hard to believe they can’t see his potential.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
That tweet was immediately after his last game, so maybe he’s just bracing himself.
  • Aggies vs Bears
I'll be the short, chubby, brown man in a CA hat with my Davis Pre-Dental Society shirt on. Say hi.

First one was a tough one because it was to the sideline with two defenders on him, high up, but went through his hands. Had he got it, would've been pretty impressive. Otherwise many would forgive him. Others will say that if it touches your hands, you have to catch it.

Second one, he ran a nice, tight route, was open, ball went right to his chest, bounced off--even he knew he should've had that one. I'm sure there's a lot to be said about practicing and rhythm and timing and being connected to your QB, but that one was right on the numbers. I'm sure he won't let that happen again. Keep your head up, buddy!

Also, movielover has been a member here for years and is a fine fellow. Feel like maybe people are reading into things too deep.

    Anyway--prediction: UC Davis 28, Cal 21
