Redshirt required. UCLA fan blog... when a few RBs were out w/ injuries in camp, he tore it up and ran hard. Players were yelling, "Give that man a scholarship". Lifelong Bruin fan. Claims that he called the UCLA RB coach for months, before he returned the call. Doesn't sound plausible.

Kelley would have had a huge impact on our offense. At least 6-3, maybe 7-2 with him. Had 609 yds last year as #2 back. Beastly 7.0 yds per carry. Averaged 24 yds on kick returns, with one for 90+ yds.

What year was it when that punt returner man from Sac State was hamming it up, dancing, primping before the kick... then fumbled the ball!!?? ...

If I recall, our stat line was horrible, but we won.

Parenteau was a beast to start the year. Bua has been solid.

I'm glad it's not just me. As I hiked those stairs last game, I wasn't completely confident. ... Some of us can recall temporary stands faltering a few times at Davis. I think once with yhe temporary end zone seats, another at the dachshund races outside Shields.

We also appear to be deep at DB and LB. But everyone seems to need work on tackling.

I'm hoping with a top 10 QB, WR, and passing offense, combined with a legitimate turnaround, our recruiting will be on fire.

Two RBs, and a few D linemen might help. Impact players. Maybe back to the JC ranks.

Any feedback on players redshirting who might help? Crawford and Gilbert were highly regarded at WR. Same for Cam Trimble (LB) and DeAndre Morgan (DL). Hunkin, Nixon (both D line)?

Have we lost any significant D playets to injury?

It appears Sac has a monster pass rush, and solid D.

Tough to put yourself in a hole ... don't cover the punt well, and then give up big yardage on 1st down.

If B. Lee is not getting any PT at WR, why not try him here? Supposedly fast, one attribute that helps.

Too many items to list everything. If you recall Coach Gould had an early focus to replace a number of graduating DBs. Gould also lost at least three studs on defense who transfered to FBS schools - Jordan Hoyt (ASU), Amonai Itaaehau (New Mexico), and Robert Taylor (WSU). (The 1st two don't look to be playing this year.)

Injuries may also play a role. Barely a word on the topic.

Hawkins has praised our secondary as very deep ... so where can we improve? We seem deep at LB, but young?

When's the collection for the next payoff?

In my horrible Pluto connection, I thought I heard the announcers talking about our athletic budget... they sounded envious.

That's why I was pushing for Aaron Moore to get more PT a few weeks back ... he made 1 or 2 spectacular catches, Hawk says he does that all the time in practice, then he dissapears... and Montgomery is a great addition.
  • Idaho State
Is it possible he will be even better with more time in our system, and with our guys?

Doss brings out the NFL scouts, and now they will also see Maier, Preece, and many others. There should be a ton of motivation there, and another enticement for recruits.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
6 wins we're in great shape. 7 wins we are in outstanding shape.

Loaded at DB and LB. A monster DE / DT would be great.

We also seem set at QB and WR. Some O linemen and a stud RB would be a good start.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
    My take. Keys.

    Key #1 - Maier (duh)

Key #2 - Dr. Blue figuring how to sign a larger class.

Key #3 - large, quality JC recruits who help right away. Martin C, Flowers, LB Moe, RB Modise, QB Maier, DT Cloud. That's 6 huge contributors. Best JC class ever? Coach Tucker helped with that! Did Mrak also help?

Are playoff slots picked by formula, committee? It could be enticing to add a California school with a top 5 QB and WR. Plus ability to draw 10,000?
