I agree. SJ victory so key. Now the big boy tests begin. Go Ags!

Hero Sports ranks our playoff chances.

    UC DAVIS
    Record: 4-1, 2-0
Remaining Games: vs. Idaho St., @ Cal Poly, @ Mont., vs. NAU, @ EWU, vs. Sac. St.

"75 percent - UC Davis' resume is outstanding so far. Wins against FBS San Jose State and 2017 playoff participant San Diego stand out. The lone loss to No. 9 Stanford isn't really even a loss. But things beef up starting this week and we'll see just how good the Aggies are. This weekend's game against Idaho State is going to be a barn burner. Then games at Montana and EWU are going to be key. If UC Davis can solidify itself as the second-best team in the Big Sky and not suffer any "bad" losses, it has a chance at a seed. But first, the Aggies need to take care of business before looking too far down the road."

Thank goodness we start FAST now!

I think our 6'7" WR has to get some consideration after his TD catch.

So our pass defense is still a problem?

These stats, are they just based on BS conference games?

I don't think the temperature hypothetically going from 88 to 88.5 is an issue ... it's whether FB wants these start times. I wonder what the temp is on the eastern sideline?

Wrong. Good game, bad quarter by reserves.

Is it primarily younger alums, or a wide range?

    Awesome motivational fodder!
  • Poll: Best Aggie team ever? Marsh says 2018.
Marsh had 2 different items; best a d mist talented. This team nat be the mist 'talented... maybe not, we had one heck on a O line and D in 82. Fricker, Slater, Eason.

The question here was Best. O'Brien and Sochor tough to beat... O'Brien undefeated in 82.

NorCal politics in the press. Locker room banter better than Chappaquiddick and Marilyn. Both very sad.

Look on the very bright side ... 3.7% unemployment, low inflation, and NK not lobbying missiles all over!

A win is a win, and hopefully injuries remain low.
  • Week 6: Big Sky
We'll see. But we have to learn how to play and coach a solid 4 quarters.
  • Week 6: Big Sky
Apparently Colorado State had a similar letdown, allowing San Jose to score 30 points in 8 minutes.

Including a mishandled punt at the 2 yard line, leading to a touchback. Sounds familiar.
  • Week 6: Big Sky
Josh Kelley shines again against top rated UW.

"UCLA was led on offense by running back Joshua Kelley - who recorded career-highs in both rushing (125) and receiving (39) yards while becoming the first Bruin since Paul Perkins in 2015 to net 100+ rushing yards in back-to-back games..."

    Is any paper thriving?
  • Week 7: Homecoming vs. Idaho State
Our victory over SJSU still looms so large.

They look potent. Their WRs made some great catches.

    Time to strap er on!

Isn't there an old saying, something like if my grandmother had gonads she'd be by grandfather?

A key play, sure; I recounted some of the additional lowlights.

It is fantastic we start games fast. But can we play 4 quarters? Good teams play 4.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Northern Colorado
The wheels came off the cart and rolled down the street. Subs being gassed seems unlikely, esp after a bye. Not hot.

Repetitive big mistakes were just part of the problem. Brock Johnson started well, led a drive, threw a nice TD between at least 2 defenders up high to Martinez.

    Problems, not in order ...

    - Our return man accidentally touches knee down on the 2 yard line.
    - QB / Center muff 1st handoff.
    - Possibly on the 3rd play they muff the handoff again, that may have been when we gave up the 2 point conversion.
    - Onside kick bounces off our return team, they recover.
    - Prevent D? Their receivers seemed wide open.
    - I believe they ran a misdirection / fly sweep on one of the 2 pt conversions. Wide open.
    - Our tackling became suspect again.
    - No TO to regroup / rally the Defense?

They put up as much offense in Q4 as the previous 3 quarters.

Coach Tucker said in the Enterprise something like we brought 28 defensive players, and we played 28. This reminded me of the game Hawk let get away at Colorado. He put a stop to it here.

And can we please try the 6'7" WR Martinez against 1s, alongside Doss? Pretty please. How does a 5'10" DB defend THAT?

Reminds me of last year when we played a high powered opponent, and we decided to slow our offense down ... limited passing... when passing was working ... by the time we switched gears, too late.

That has to be a record for 2 point conversions (3) allowed, esp in such a short period of time.
