Not knocking any particular QB, but for QB U, it seems we haven't thrown deep in a long time. So...

- we don't go deep
- we sometimes even struggle w midrange game
- our QBs typically aren't mobile
- our gadget plays are even predictable
- we run a LOT on 1st down

So the opposing defense only has to guard 20 yards. I enjoyed the days when Maier came out bang bang, and even punted on 3rd Down to keep speedsters off the field.

Have we given up on snatching experienced, proven JC QBs? That's what they did at Idaho State, inking the DVC QB.

FTR, Idaho State played 2 QBs last year, had substantial improvement, and nobody died. QB #2 appears to run more, experienced, and threw it.

It means no Jake Maier on the roster.

Business major may have helped. Coach Tucker brought a bunch of guys from the Jucos.

David Meyer looks like a major get, led Cal Poly in tackles two years in a row. 60 total tackles last year, 38 solo, 1 FF and FR. 2 QBH. 4.5 sacks the prior year.

WE Wright had 2 catches in 2022 and none in 2023.

Hawk did a fantastic job bringing us back, identifying and landing Jake Maier, and likely playing a role in getting the Edward's Performance Facility built.

It sounds like the Business major is a small but key addition.

Question: did JM work harder than our other QBs, or did he bring skills others don't have?

Cody went from 1-10 to 3-8, and competitive. ISU rewarded him w a new contract, looks like a 1-year extension and small raise.

He has said he's best friends with Cody, and contemplated stepping aside after Cody left for Idaho State.
