  • Is it possible that the Graduate could return?
How did they stop the new housing? Or did other developments coming online reduce the need? Has the old mall been razed?

The old furniture may be in storage, maybe the old owner could be part owner? I saw online he was venting after he was closed down. Does he have any current restaurants open?
  • 2023 Preseason FCS Football Polls
We lose a MVP RB, Sac loses an MVP RB, 2 QBs and a HC.
  • New Rule Changes for Football
    Are games going too long?
  • Dobbins Stadium thoughts
Do they serve beer? That was a key point when Coach Swimley was trying to lure minor league baseball / other teams here to help complete / fund the stadium project. Back then (80s / 90s) the campus didn't want to be the first, even though alumni groups routinely got waivers to serve alcohol on campus.
  • Dobbins Stadium thoughts
Good points. The new coach has really quickly improved things, can he continue the surge next year?

You don't mention 'changing demographics'. The facility was also scaled back as they sat on the Dobbins donation for a long time as they considered 'gender equity' issues. Construction costs spiked, so Aggie baseball got less.
  • Evaluating the athletic department
What happened to us playing Sac 2x a year?
  • Evaluating the athletic department
Required. Many of the Olympic sports have brand new facilities, and we have the Athletic Performance Facility.

Field hockey, swimming, baseball, football, lacrosse - all have new facilities. OK, baseball needs lights.

Dunning also mentions his preference that MBB move to the WCC for a few fans who might travel to away games in the Bay Area. Play them in pre season.
  • Brandon Laird returns to Aggies
Coach Laird has joined the new Vandals staff as their Lead Assistant / Associate Head Coach for men's basketball.

I've heard great things about Coach Laird. Maybe someday he'll be a HC for the Aggies.

Great season! Should boost recruiting and morale.
  • Serial Killer on the loose in Davis?
He seems a little naive when he says medicine will be fun. I know he was in HS. Still, it's a daunting high pressure path at the UC.
  • 2023 Recruits?
I believe early on when we had an interim AD, Les had a few academic exceptions. In fact, the Faculty Advisor was bypassed in several instances.
  • Serial Killer on the loose in Davis?
Yup, he should have at least cut his hair, changed his clothes, and not hung around the crime scene.
  • Serial Killer on the loose in Davis?
San Jose Mercury: "In an Oakland Story Bank project page documenting young Oakland students’ career aspirations, a 15-year-old Castlemont High School student named Carlos Reales shared his interests in video games, football and a medical career. He talked about his desire to care for his grandmother, who suffers with diabetes, and how the 2016 internship boosted his confidence and honed his desire to give back to the community."

"...KRON-4 reported he attended Oakland’s Laney College before UC Davis."

He graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland.
  • Serial Killer on the loose in Davis?
Carlos Reales Dominguez, a 3rd year student who was "separated from the university April 25 for academic reasons", has been arrested.

He originally hails from Oakland, was pre-med, and I believe studying biological sciences. He allegedly returned to the crime scene in the same clothes from attack #3, and had a large fixed-blade knife on him along with marks on his hands and wrists consist with a struggle.

He has been charged with two counts of homicide and one count of attempted murder.

I agree, first things first. The biggest tragedy I recall off hand was the couple killed skiing in Tahoe?
  • Serial Killer on the loose in Davis?
    Copy cat attack?

Different cities accept / reject the open drug bazaars and mentally ill (aka homeless). Davis accepts it, embraces it. Like San Francisco. A friend who lives in town says there are many very angry, unstable individuals.

I don't call it compassion to let people with severe mental illness live on the streets, or to allow the drug culture to threaten women, children, and civil
    life.
  • Doss to NY Giants
Doss will have to compete with two TCU WR draft picks, one a 1st round pick, the second a 5' 8 3/4" speedster. The second pick: Darius Davis has a 4.36 40 time, and allegedly was the only college or pro player to break 23 mph on a YAC reception. Won a CFB special team's award.

"Keelan Doss signed a 1 year, $825,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including an average annual salary of $825,000. In 2023, Doss will earn a base salary of $940,000, while carrying a cap hit of $940,000."

    Very sad. Deranged homeless?
