From SDSU to LA Rams

Coach Gould was named the Associate Head Coach and RB Coach at San Diego State last month before deciding to join the NFL's Los Angeles Rams heading into the 2023 season. His stint st SDSU lasted about one month.

So baseball finished 17-37, and unfortunately lost its last 11 games. Solid turnaround from the 6-35 season.

We had outgrown DII, and Chancellor Meyer retired. If I recall, he was a no growth Chancellor.

And Teddy is young.

We don't know why Babbs didn't get the attempts. He had a year off, and he has a fashion line. We're not at practice.

Hawkins always has a lot of WRs on the roster. Lance Babbs returns, every ball thrown his way that I saw, he caught.

It was a unique event space, perfect size, with something for everybody. Sports. Salsa and Country Nights. Thursday long-held traditions. Friday & Sat dancing. Video games and pool. Not too big, not too small, though the campus demographics changing create some challenges. Good burgers and bar food centrally located. The owner had some rough edges, but he had the formula.

How did they stop the new housing? Or did other developments coming online reduce the need? Has the old mall been razed?

The old furniture may be in storage, maybe the old owner could be part owner? I saw online he was venting after he was closed down. Does he have any current restaurants open?

We lose a MVP RB, Sac loses an MVP RB, 2 QBs and a HC.

Are games going too long?

Do they serve beer? That was a key point when Coach Swimley was trying to lure minor league baseball / other teams here to help complete / fund the stadium project. Back then (80s / 90s) the campus didn't want to be the first, even though alumni groups routinely got waivers to serve alcohol on campus.

Good points. The new coach has really quickly improved things, can he continue the surge next year?

You don't mention 'changing demographics'. The facility was also scaled back as they sat on the Dobbins donation for a long time as they considered 'gender equity' issues. Construction costs spiked, so Aggie baseball got less.

What happened to us playing Sac 2x a year?

Required. Many of the Olympic sports have brand new facilities, and we have the Athletic Performance Facility.

Field hockey, swimming, baseball, football, lacrosse - all have new facilities. OK, baseball needs lights.

Dunning also mentions his preference that MBB move to the WCC for a few fans who might travel to away games in the Bay Area. Play them in pre season.

Coach Laird has joined the new Vandals staff as their Lead Assistant / Associate Head Coach for men's basketball.

I've heard great things about Coach Laird. Maybe someday he'll be a HC for the Aggies.

He seems a little naive when he says medicine will be fun. I know he was in HS. Still, it's a daunting high pressure path at the UC.

I believe early on when we had an interim AD, Les had a few academic exceptions. In fact, the Faculty Advisor was bypassed in several instances.

Yup, he should have at least cut his hair, changed his clothes, and not hung around the crime scene.
