Not him. This transfer was in the rotation at outside LB for UCLA last year and is immediately eligible. Has two years of remaining eligibility and enrolled in grad school.
Not a Colorado guy. Also has never been an on field college coach, just an analyst. Big move from breaking down film to calling the D but he has been part of the Oregon recruiting machine.
There were shortcomings on both sides of the ball. In 2018 Hawk restored the tradition. Over the next two years the program needs to take a big step forward with recruiting, player development and in-game strategy.
Sad to see what has happened to attendance through the years. Even in the NCAC double header days, during winter break the women’s game had a better gate than this. Time to recognize that the limitation isn’t the opposition or the venue, but rather the university and the town.
It’s not funded but SDSU has a good track record with the CSU after building Cox. Davis on the other hand spent $30m on a $10m lacrosse field because the AD was incompetent and the chancellor was not respected by the Regents.
Maier was the right QB at the right time to help lead the program back to respectability. Doesn't belong on Mount Rushmore but his contributions should not be forgotten...
Dodged a bullet up front. The big outside backers are rush ends. As odd as it sounds, this is a game that Davis needs to keep close by playing defense.
The challenge is a bit different than an upper echelon FCS matchup. Davis sets up the run through the pass and Cal has the best secondary a UCD team will have ever faced. The mitigating factor is that Cal probably has the worst offense in the nation among Power 5 programs. Everything they return is bad.
