SDSU and USD play this Saturday. That should make things interesting with the top 5. SDSU could be a 3-loss team. Not sure if the loser stays in the top 4, and Davis remains in a tier below. NDSU and MSU will likely roll opponents this Saturday and remain in the top 4.

Also, SEMO looks like they could easily win the rest of their games and finish 11-1

I've been holding my breath for about a month waiting for the result of the EWU game. With that one under our belt, I feel better going into Montana and Sac State. Between Cal Poly and EWU, I feel like we've been able to hone "Shredville" a bit and work out the kinks. I'm optimistic for more of the same against Northern Colorado, potentially playing reserves in the 4th quarter. But now I've probably jinxed it, and the wild, wild west of FCS will keep stunning me, just like every year in the past.

I'm getting more hopeful for a 10-2 season and a first round bye.

Oregon is 7-0 and thumped Purdue 35-0 tonight.

I can remember one game in the late 90s where at best there were 50 people at a game in the pouring rain during a holiday weekend. We had a blast running from endzone to endzone. Sure, maybe it isn't the same experience as something like Michigan. But we made that north endzone loud and intimidating. So much fun at the Toom!

I hijacked a few tvs at a sports bar where we were having an event for my kid's school and had the bartender put that game on. The three other Davis alumni thought it was awesome. I could hear the other 75 parents saying, "Is this a HS game???"

the average fan would be more excited to watch a Davis vs unr conference game, or davis vs the likes of san diego state or texas tech bowl game than playing Drake or UT Martin.Jdur
100%. If Davis made the jump, I would love to see them lumped in with Fresno St., SJSU, San Diego schools, etc. Anything more "local" than Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. I miss making the drive to the St. Marys games back in the day. At least when we play Stanford and Cal, we might get beat (except that one time!), but people recognize our opponent.

Are you telling me your friends and family didn't call you immediately afrer Davis beat Utah Tech?!? (Heavy on the sarcasm.)

I don't want to start talking about playoffs. 1 week at a time. But man, nice to be 6-1.

Hasn't Movie been yelling this from the rooftops the last two weeks? Nice to see we have depth at running back.

That sounds like a "glass half full" view on nearly losing to a now 0-5 team. How many points/1st downs have we left on the table due to silly penalties this year? He has to clean that stuff up soon. Easy for me to say as a guy who played lineman in college (sidelineman, during IM fotball...)

I can't handle another nailbiter this weekend! Time to put up 50+ points and play a complete game. My SDSU alum coworker promised me his Jackrabbits will crush the Penguins of Youngstown St. as paypack for our 2006 loss to them.

All kidding aside, work has been pretty unproductive since we hired a 2nd person who follows FCS football. It's probably the first time since I've graduated that I'm able to talk about teams that mostly nobody has ever heard of. "Davis has a football team?" Go Ags!

Afrer a strong start, the Aggies started conference play 0-2, then tied CSUN last. They almost gave up a goal in the last few seconds, but the goalie had a fantastic save to keep the score tied.

can they get the audio figured out on these? I have to turn the volume WAY up, and you still can't here the questions. Also, I'm a dad, too, but I just don't understand having the kids at these press conferences. Not sure if it was one or two weeks ago where one of the kids was digging for gold in his nose.

Something called "Hero Sports" has the same.Toke69

Sam Herder was on the Aggie Pride Podcast and writes for Hero Sports. He's one of the people who gets a vote for the FCS poll, and a lot of those people post their ballots. He's just one of 56 (?) people who cast a vote and puts a little article together each week rationalizing his poll.

correct, just break the plane. Not cross completely.
  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
I could be completely wrong, but as I understand it, the ball has to cross the line at the front of the endzone, regardless of where the player's body is. That's why the ball can be out of the back or side of the endzone, as long as the player has a foot in the endzone. The ball has to enter that front line of the endzone, and the player has to be in bounds.
